Senior IT Change Manager
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Project and Consulting Services in the Office of Information Technology, the Senior IT Change Manager is responsible for supporting critical cross- University IT projects involving changes to University policies, business processes, systems and technology by managing the "people side" of these changes and assuring a successful project implementation. The primary focus of this person is to create, communicate, and successfully implement change management plans that maximize employee engagement. The Senior IT Change Manager will work with administrative and academic department heads to ensure desired business results and enable faster adoption, greater utilization, higher proficiency and acceptance of changes impacting employees. Responsibilities: - Applies a structured change management approach and methodology for the "people side" of change required for the successful implementation of IT projects. - Develops and oversees actionable and targeted change management plans for IT projects based on situational awareness of those impacted, including a change management roadmap, engagement plans, communication plans, training and documentation plans. - Identifies the potential "people-side" risks and anticipates points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns. - While the Senior IT Change Manager does not have supervisory responsibility, this person works through many others in the organization to succeed. The Senior IT Change Manager supports project managers and their teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans. Essential Qualifications: - A minimum of 10 years experience with large-scale organizational change efforts. - A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of change management principles, methodologies and of how people go through a change and the change process. - Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle. - Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and active listening skills. - Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and influence others to progress toward a common vision or goal. - Inherently collegial and collaborative, possessing exceptional judgment and sensitivity to the culture of the University and its constituencies. - Excellent analytic, problem solving and root cause identification skills. - Knowledge of, and familiarity with, IT products and services.
