I have been retained by a client in the packaging industry in the Northeast ( Massachusetts ) that is seeking to hire a Vice President, Supply Chain and wanted to take this opportunity to network with you on this very exciting opportunity.
Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Supply Chain will be the most senior supply chain executive and will have responsibility for sourcing, purchasing, customer service, corporate projects, order processing, warehousing and delivery. This person will oversee the supply chain budget and operating performance, along with key service, quality and cost metrics and focus on continuous improvement programs.
Key supply chain functions include:
Sourcing: This person will be responsible for maintaining strong, working relationships with all suppliers and third-party transportation companies.

The ability to work across all disciplines and throughout all levels of the organization in a persuasive and credible manner is a must. He/she will have the ability to work effectively with other executives in a team environment toward common goals and objectives. This includes having a track record of building a strong, collaborative working relationship with manufacturing, as well as interacting with areas outside of supply chain such as marketing, product development and finance.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Applied Science/ Mathematics or related field
Advanced degree and knowledge of six sigma and lean concepts
Minimum of 15 years of broad-based supply chain experience
