This position will be a mid to senior level server-side Java developer who will play a key role in scaling up our business.
We are targeting compensation in the range of $110-140k + benefits, bonus and options, depending on skills and experience.

Software Engineer - Core Platform Job Description:
Selerity seek an exceptional, hands-on software engineer to scale up our core platform. This role focuses on server-side Java development with an emphasis on service-oriented architecture on a primarily open-source stack. Specific experience building web-based applications that deal with real-time data is very helpful. Selerity's continued growth depends on the overall platform (back-end data and user-facing applications) being scalable, robust and secure while remaining flexible to meet the evolving needs of the market. The successful candidate must combine excellent technical knowledge and problem solving skills with the ability to function well within a team. Required Qualifications (candidate must possess all of these)
* BS in Computer Science (or related 4-year degree).
* 5+ years commercial development experience.
* Advanced understanding of Java including recent hands-on experience.
* Experience with high-volume distributed application architectures.
* Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical peers.
* Self-starter capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.
* Understanding of agile software development methodology.
* Creative problem-solving skills.
* Authorization to work in the United States.
Desired Qualifications (candidate should possess some of these)
* Experience building data-intensive web-based applications.
* Experience designing and/or consuming JSON-based API's.
* Familiarity with relational databases and SQL (especially MySQL) as well as non-relational
databases.
* Experience using search (e.g. Lucene), classification or translation systems on large
datasets.
* Significant working knowledge of application development, deployment and management on
Linux.
* Understanding of information security principles and best practices as applied to web-based
architectures.
* Experience deploying applications to virtual servers / cloud-based infrastructure.
* Hands-on experience implementing systems with low-latency (milliseconds) requirements
* General knowledge of financial services, especially capital markets and trading.
