Massachusetts' unemployment rate dropped to 6.3 percent in April and the
state added 2,500 jobs, according to the Executive Office of Labor and
Workforce Development.
Job gains in April follow a revised 7,500 job gain in March, per the state,
which based their report on preliminary job estimates from the Bureau of
Labor Statistics.

Last month the unemployment rate dropped to 6.3 percent, down from 6.5
percent in March. The state's rate is much lower than the current national
unemployment rate of 8.1 percent.
