Senior Tax Associate
East Brunswick, NJ
3-5 years experience
Company is a progressive fast paced environment, which is primarily fueled by acquisitions, divestures, and development of power generation and transmission projects throughout the US. The company utilizes numerous types of transaction structures and financing vehicles to close these transactions. Each person in the tax department works closely with people in other departments including M&A, Engineering, Asset
Management and Accounting.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Prepare income tax workpapers and assist with investor inquiries, projections, estimated payments, ECI and FDAP filings and payments, other miscellaneous tax filings and FAS 109 tax accounting
- Research various federal income and state and local tax issues
- Assist with tax issues arising from acquisitions, dispositions, financing, new construction, and development activities.
Qualifications for the new position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 3 to 5 years of public accounting or industry experience
- Good knowledge of and experience with partnership federal and state income tax matters, and state and local taxes A MUST; power industry, private equity or hedge fund experience, a plus
- Ability to prioritize and execute duties with limited supervision
- Demonstrated team-player
- Proactive with strong analytical abilities and communication skills.
- Computer skills with very good knowledge of MS Excel
