Technical Writer responsible for the drafting and coordination of review/approval efforts related to internal and external documentation about a new trading system.

Required Skills

Technical Writer spot - is not a  business analyst and project position. Our client is looking for people who are focused in on experience that illustrates interactions and work products resulting from technical conversations with development staff.  Please be sure to keep this in mind when submitting your resume  and confirm that you have dealt with developers before and are able to have those technical conversations and document them properly.

 

  • This resource would work on documentation across the project (Product Management, SI, Marketing, DBS): document writing, editing, document structuring, facilitating the review/approval process.  The primary owners/authors of the document will remain accountable for the deliverables throughout but work with the other technical writer to achieve the output.
  • Documents include Release Guideline, Functional and Technical Release Notes, User Guides
  • Experienced technical writer, preferably in financial services, for both internal and external documentation
  • Strong command of technology as well as general business concepts
  • Quick learner – for documenting of detailed system behavior and more complicated business functionality
  • Must be able to deliver high-quality documentation
  • Must proactively manage and facilitate the documentation review and approval process
  • Must be detail-oriented and apply strict attention to document content, accuracy, format and style.
  • Must be able to quickly and efficiently learn about the system and apply complicated business concepts to writing
  • Skills:
    - Fluent with MS Office core products (Word, Power Point and Visio)
    - Ability to integrate XML-based data into MS Office documents
    - - Proven background of documenting programming interfaces
    - Excellent communication and people skills
    - Ability to work closely with multi-disciplinary technical teams
    - Knowledge of options trading systems a plus
    - Knowledge of other documentation systems like Framemaker and TeX a plus

Required Experience

Deliverables:
- External documentation describing programming interfaces for equity, options or derivatives

- Technical and functional training manuals 
 

Must have extensive experience writing technical documents for client consumptions.
