We have an immediate need for a Data Steward to assist the Information Technology senior data lead in establishing PineBridge's business and technology enterprise data architecture, integrating the data / system platforms that report Assets Under Management, Revenue and Performance data, assigning data owners, reconciling data and implementing data policies and procedures. The Data Steward will play an integral role in helping to leverage data as a corporate asset to enable management to make faster and more informed decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly interested in learning our asset management business and enjoy working with complex financial data and will have at least 2-3 years of experience in data governance or stewardship. Please note that this is a consulting position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
· Assist in the development and implementation of the enterprise-wide strategic data warehouse.
· Help establish and maintain the company's data management policies to ensure data consistency and integrity.
· Help determine the company's data warehouse content and data governance rules and help resolve ambiguities that may arise in the corporate vocabulary. Work with groups responsible for defining and sourcing corporate data and reporting terminology.
· Assist in developing data governance principles, standards and policies,. Help create a transition plan from the current state to a future state data architecture - defining common definitions, assuring data quality and managing appropriate access of end users, assisting with testing, and training end users in report and query building.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a data governance role developing data rules about data, conducting data exception reporting, or involved with data operations; or experience as a systems or business analyst working with security reference data, client data or client reporting; or other data related experience.
· Excellent communication skills including the ability to interact with technology, operations, business users and management across all areas of the organization.
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimum supervision.
· Ability to quickly get up to speed with new software applications.
· Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
· Prior experience writing business and / or technical specifications is a plus.
· An understanding of database management systems and data warehousing is a plus.
· Bachelor's degree in information technology or a business related degree. Various backgrounds will be considered for those with a passion for working with complex financial data.
