Subject: Job Opening

Good Afternoon:

I am currently working on the following opportunity and wanted to see if you happen to know anyone or may be interested in the job yourself. We do pay referrals so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

This position is located in New York, NY.

Business Analyst for the following -
This project is centered on supporting recent derivatives regulatory changes and offering exchange-listed products execution. New regulations require large changes to the way derivatives contracts are traded today. Many products currently traded over-the-counter will need to be centrally cleared, and in many cases, also listed and traded on exchanges (which is the part more relevant to this project). As this shift happens from individual dealers to a more central model, it¿s critical to continue making liquidity available to our traders and our external clients (while also protecting revenue). To do this, we are creating a new exchange-based execution platform that we want to drive to become best-of-breed.¿
The opportunity to build a new electronic platform in an emerging area is a very exciting one, and we¿re looking to move swiftly. The project will leverage several pre-existing components across several teams in eCommerce, in addition to new development.¿¿
We require a Business Analyst to help formalize requirements, define use cases, and drive the overall design of the new platform and the products that will be offered on it. The candidate must have enough product knowledge to comfortably talk to traders and understand their needs. This position is highly visible to both the business, as well as to senior IT management across several asset classes.¿¿
Principal responsibilities
Formalize product requirements and create BRDs and FRDs that are approved by the appropriate businesses
Define and detail use cases and user flows
Provide direction for the design and information architecture of the system¿
Key Relationships
On the business side, this role will initially face traders across various asset classes who use listed derivatives for hedging
On the technology side, the role will interact with systems owners across FX, Equities, and middle/back offices
The role will also interact with a designer, who will assist with the final look and feel of the UI (although it¿s expected that the BA candidate will provide most of the input in terms of IA and user flows)¿
Job Qualifications¿
Experience:
Required: 5+ years of experience in financial industry, preferred in Futures or other derivatives areas.
Required: Demonstrated strength in formal business process, use case, requirements, and technical documentation (including extensive experience in creating BRDs/FRDs)
Required: Experience with electronic trading platforms (particularly Futures platforms like TT, PATS, Reuters RTEx, Client Tradebook/EMSX, etc).
Nice to have: Strong project management skills.
Nice to have: Test planning and execution experience.
Nice to have: IA & UI design background.
Nice to have: Technical development or system design background.¿
Technical/Analysis:
Basic technical understanding of trading systems and components.
Very strong experience in BRD/FRD analysis and creation¿
Business:
Strong knowledge of Futures and/or other derivatives products.
General knowledge of trade processing, clearing, reporting, matching and compliance.¿
Personal:
Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Required: Excellent ability to deal with abstraction.
Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment. Enthusiastic, highly motivated and very detail-oriented individual.
Highly organized, likes documentation and formalization of process.
Can juggle many tasks at the same time, and pick up new concepts and information rapidly..

Thank you,

Christy Zuppa
