Position Responsibilities – Summary

This individual, as part of the Enterprise Technical Services management
team will manage the Applications Services support team that provides 24X7
production support services for our Database and Middleware infrastructure.
The right candidate should have extensive managerial and technical
experience with the ability to support a global multi-vendor and
cross-technology production environment with strong leadership, crisis
resolution, team management, communication, analytical and decision making
skills.

Key Responsibilities;

· Providing vision, direction, and definition of team activities and
priorities, on the projects and activities for the Applications Services
team. Ensuring all level 1 and level 2 support responsibilities are met by
the team in a timely and efficient manner 24x7.
· This role will provide operations planning leadership for the IS
organization bridging the gap between plan, build and operate with respect
to new platforms. This includes interacting with all IS teams to coordinate
project activities and support issues. This also includes communicating
issues and status in the form of dashboards, briefings, and presentations.

· This role will maintain inventory of all software and hardware
versions use in the enterprise within a CMDB. This includes documenting
current version in use, current version in General Availability and making
sure licensing is accurate and up-to-date currently, annually and trued up.
· Overseeing the implementation of standard configuration(s) and
best practices to meet the organizational high availability objectives for
all the platforms the Production Support team supports.
· Defining and implementing standards deployments, patches, fixes
for all platforms the Applications Services team supports.
· Mentoring staff members on professional development. Establishing
Personal Development Plans, Performance Reviews, managing workload, defining
and clarifying priorities, and providing technical direction on tasks.
· Making sure all key environments are monitored properly by Network
Operations Center and trended properly by the Capacity Workgroup.
Keys to This Position:
1. Management: Seeking very strong Technical Management skills. This
individual will lead a team of approximately 30 (½perm, ½ consultants- both
on and offshore).
2. Technical: This individual will be responsible for 4 Technical Areas
(1) Oracle DBA environment, (2) Middleware - Weblogic, Websphere, JMS
security and messaging, etc. (3) Operational Planning and (4) HW/SW
maintenance. The Oracle DBA area is most important in terms of the
background of the candidate.
3. This position has both Production Support and Engineering
responsibilities.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 10+ years experience as a technical manager supporting global 24x7
support teams with distributed multi-server/multi-location environments.
· Previous experience managing a team of 30+ resources
· 4 year accredited degree
· Experience in leading, delegation and also having the technical
expertise to get "hand-on" involved as/when the need arises.
· 10+ years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
supporting enterprise class Oracle database environments.
· - Oracle RAC, Production 10 & 11G experience, PL/ SQL performance
tuning
· - Database internals -- query processing, indexing, access
methods, caching, transaction processing, replication, backup/restore,
storage
· - Fundamental understanding of Data Guard, Flashback (table /

The Enterprise Information Architect will play a key technical leadership
role in defining direction as well as implementing major transformational
data-related projects planned over the next 3-5 years. She/he will be
responsible for leading and engaging in information/data management projects
including the Enterprise Information Architecture, information models and
flows, data dictionaries, data standards, and data quality standards and
processes. The Enterprise Information Architect is responsible for
developing and maintaining the logical Enterprise Information Architecture
that enables seamless information interoperability of all of our systems -
from transaction systems, reporting & document management systems as well as
information delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities;

· Develop and evangelize Enterprise Information Architecture and
provide technical leadership for developing and maintaining the enterprise
information architecture.
· Identify gaps in the Corporate Information/Data Model and address
them actively in collaboration with business facing teams using a deep
understanding of financial services
· Ensure systems alignment with the information lifecycle.
· Maintain a library of the enterprise information models (i.e.,
information models, information flows, data dictionaries, etc) and
develop/enforce the change control process for the Enterprise Information
Architecture artifacts.
· Coordinate information/data changes that occur as part of new
development, maintenance and enhancements to ensure consistency with the
Corporate Information/Data Model.
· Lead the development and maintenance of information management
standards and conventions (e.g., naming standards, information architecture
gates in the IT development projects, etc).
· In collaboration with the Information Integration teams, define,
develop, maintain, and communicate information exchange standards that will
be used by downstream systems.
· Align Enterprise Information Architecture efforts with other
Enterprise Architecture/ Information Management counterparts to ensure
overall alignment of architecture components.
Keys to This Position:
The individual will meet with the Fixed Income and Equity Systems Managers
to understand their needs in regards to Data Information workflow. Then the
individual will communicate that to the technical architects who will
implement the technical solution. Someone that is deeply technical is not
the right person - it is more of an Analyst role.
1. Domain knowledge: The candidate must have a strong knowledge of the
Asset Management industry and how the business operates. Ideally the
candidate will come from another asset management firm.
2. Information Architecture skills: The candidate will have a focus at a
Lead Systems Analyst level in the areas of Information/Data Architecture and
Integration, Data Modeling, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, etc.
3. Must have strong Client Relationship and Leadership skills. This
individual will interface with the Investment Systems team and the
Investment Data team among others. Experience understanding Fixed Income,
Equities and Derivatives is important.
4. This individual will be very similar to a Lead Systems Analyst, but in
the Data Architecture space. The individual needs a deep knowledge of the
Asset Management business (i.e. Fixed Income, Equities, etc.) and the
underlying business process and the Data that facilitates the Workflow.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Master's degree in software or systems engineering, computer
science, information systems management or the equivalent.
· At least 10 years progressive experience in enterprise
information/data related disciplines, i.e., data modeling, architecture and
integration.
· Proven experience in developing information architectures aligned
with information lifecycle management within financial services.
· Proven experience performing conceptual, logical and physical data
modeling with data modeling tools (Erwin/ModelMart) and database design in
complex, large-scale data environments.
· Proven experience in transactional data modeling (3NF),
dimensional modeling and object oriented modeling. Proven experience in
developing scalable design of entities using advanced data structures (e.g.,
tall tables) is a plus.
· Knowledge of application modeling languages/techniques (e.g., UML,
OML, entity relationship modeling, DFDs) including the ability to create and
read the associated diagrams.
· Proven experience creating enterprise models incorporating master
and reference data.
· Experience in creation of data dictionaries, defining metadata
management approaches and governance processes.
· Experience in developing and implementing IT architecture plans,
Enterprise Information Architecture standard and guidelines, software
development methodologies and strategic plans.
· Experience in developing data sharing standards and architecting
scalable service oriented solutions.
· Solid understanding of transaction and information systems, data
warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies and life cycle as well as ETL
and MDM technologies.
· Strong facilitation skills to engage subject matter experts to
define data requirements and conduct data modeling design reviews with
project teams.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain
and document the Enterprise Information Architecture to diverse audiences
(technical, business, etc).
· Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple

Position Responsibilities – Summary

The Data Center Manager takes care of the physical aspects of the data
center(s) - racking, stacking, electrical, mechanical, how equipment is
populated, etc. This person's team works with the physical building
security and Real Estate.

This position is responsible for operations and management of the firm's
IDFs, MDFs and Data Centers globally. By working with Real Estate, this
role ensures that Data Center environmental equipment is functioning
properly, maintained and closely monitored. This position manages staff
that supports equipment installation, infrastructure cabling, racking &
stacking activities for all of IS.

The Data Center management team supports department relocation activities as
it pertains to cabling installations, removals, and reorganizations. In
addition, this role works directly with mechanical, electrical, and cabling
contractors to schedule moves, adds and changes as well as coordinating
preventative maintenance schedules and trouble shooting of environmental
equipment issues.

Detailed Responsibilities:

· Manage day-to-day facility operation of Data Centers in MA and CT.
· Manage equipment and cable installations at Massachusetts
locations.
· Supports disaster recovery cabling needs for Massachusetts
locations.
· Manage staff of 4 -6 individuals and assigns tasks, defines work
and schedules for Data Facilities Management.
· Attends meetings that involve Data Facilities Management.
· Manages changes that involve Data Facilities Management and
assigns resources to support changes 7 x 24 x 365.
· Ensures Remedy tickets are resolved by Data Facilities Management
in a timely manner.
· Works closely with outside vendors that support Data Center and
Cabling installations, maintenance activities and resolution of any
equipment failures.

Keys to this Position:

1. The candidate needs to have recently managed a 7500 square foot data
center or more - preferably a Tier 3 (as defined by uptime institute) or
greater.
2. Client has two Data Centers in Marlborough, MA and Windsor, CT. The
candidate will be based in Marlborough but will evenly split their time
between Marlborough and Windsor.
3. The candidate needs to speak to (1) Their ability to help client set
their global Data Center standards and (2) Their ability to help them get
all of their Data Centers to those standards.
4. Location: The primary data center is in Marlborough but they will start
the build out of a new Tier 3 Data Center in Windsor CT this July that will
be fully operational by October 2011. The candidate needs to be able to
commute between both locations (80 miles apart). The Worcester area for
example would be a good location.
5. The candidate will be well versed in the most current Data Center
technologies including Cloud, Virtual and Private computing. They will need
experience running a 'lights out' data center.
6. Management: this individual will initially manage a team of 2 to 3 that
will grow to 6. This person will need to have experience managing budgets
and working with vendors.
7. The Data Center Manager takes care of the physical aspects of the data
center(s) - racking, stacking, electrical, mechanical, how equipment is
populated, etc. This person's team works with the physical building
security and Real Estate.
8. The candidate needs to have managed multiple Data Centers in a 24X7,
Mission Critical Environment – Investment Management or Financial Services
background ideal.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 15 + years experience with Data Center operations, cabling
(voice/data) - (copper/fiber), environmental data center equipment (UPS,
Generator, PDU, and fire protection.
· Working knowledge of network cabling (LAN) and data center
facility equipment (power/cooling).
· Experience with Data Center layout, design, and engineering.
· Experience managing staff.
· Knowledge of change management controls/processes,
installation/removal of equipment - Unix/Wintel, Network, NAS, SAN, Telco.
· Excellent organizational, customer and communication skills.
· Four-year undergraduate degree preferred
· Willingness to travel as required to remote sites as needed
· Hands on experience with MS Office products
