Assume technical ownership and support responsibility for the existing Regulatory Reporting database and technology platform.
•Lead
the initiative to redesign and/or replace the existing Regulatory
Reporting database and technology platform. This position requires the
skills to conduct a technical assessment based on business requirements
of the current Regulatory Reporting technology platform, data sources
and information reporting requirements.
•Manage/coordinate the
activities of CIT technology resources assigned to, or matrix teams,
various initiatives. This position will also manage any external
technology resources (on-site and/or off-shore) in development and
support of the technology solutions.
•Lead the technical effort for
the software evaluation and selection of a vendor-based Regulatory
Reporting application system and interfaces.
•Partner with the CIT
Regulatory Reporting business group to assess modifications associated
with regulatory changes, new business reporting and information
requirements, and business operation needs.
•Coordinate and manage
the application vendor and various STS groups to resolve issues
identified by Regulatory Reporting with the implementation and use of
their applications.
•Manage Regulatory Reporting development and
implementation initiatives, including work assignments and direction to
junior staff.
•Evaluate and recommend opportunities in the area of
technology direction in financial systems; identify, evaluate and
present new business/technical opportunities to senior management for
project approval.
•Assess how existing and emerging solutions can
make Regulatory Reporting customers more effective and work more
efficiently; understand the Regulatory Reporting business functions and
advise them on solutions that apply to their needs.
•Support, as required, capacity planning and disaster recovery to ensure sufficient resources to meet business requirements.REQUIRED SKILLS•Technical
skills required to implement and support complex financial business
application systems. (See required experience below). Regularly
evaluates business and system processes and develops recommendations for
improvements.
•Technical skills and business acumen required to
install, upgrade and maintain vendor software applications on various
platforms. Knowledge of financial system and business expertise to
transform business steps to application functions automating processes
where appropriate.
•Business acumen in finance area functions to
analyze workflow, processes and controls and collaborate with business
management.
•Ability to design, develop and implement software
functions, algorithms, and complex MS/SQL stored procedures for business
applications.
•Ability to effectively interface directly with the
management of the Controllers/Regulatory Reporting leadership team on a
regular basis. Includes presentations on project status, proposals and
other related business improvements.
•Candidate must have experience
and ability to immediately demonstrate working level knowledge in
accounting and regulatory reporting concepts and applicable functions in
application systems.
•Prior experience implementing a vendor product for Regulatory Reporting would be a plus.
•Technical capabilities:
•Extensive experience with development in MS SQL Server 2005
•Experience designing and supporting relational databases
•Strong knowledge of SSIS
•Technical skills and minimum of 3 yrs experience writing, analyzing, and optimizing advanced MS SQL queries stored procedures.
•Minimum
of 5 yrs in the development of financial systems management, including
all phases of the software development life cycle
•Proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel; Business writing and technical documentation.

This position is located in New York, NY.

Job Description:



The PMO will be responsible for supporting individual project managers and/or overall program manager on complex IT projects and programs, typically at a departmental level.

The candidate will be required to support a number of projects that make up the overall eCommerce program. Based in New York the role is part of the Global technology team tasked with ensuring core control and reporting processes are executed, and key metrics are communicated effectively to Senior Management.

Key Deliverables:

Specifically the PMO will be responsible for the following:



• Establishing and maintaining project governance

• Managing project setup from a project planning, space planning, and time tracking perspective

• Under direction of the Project Manager, conducting meetings with stakeholders to elicit and agree on information required for project initiation

• Developing and managing consolidated project plans (work schedules, testing, quality, risk, communications etc) and other project initiation documents to ensure appropriate project setup

• Preparing project briefs for preliminary go/no go decision

• Managing all aspects of project tracking and management including work completed, milestones achieved, work remaining and dependencies

• Managing resource tracking (budget & actuals)

• Defining, collecting, monitoring and analyzing project metrics including cost, time, quality, resources and risk

• Managing the issues list to ensure issues are documented and actioned as appropriate. Resolve issues where required

• Generating project status reports

• Managing RFI/RFP process

• Managing the Post Implementation review

• Managing the approval processes for the project, ensuring signoff on deliverables

• Managing the change requests and integrating impacts into plans

• Ensuring appropriate archiving of project documents at project close

• Scheduling, attending and running project meetings and documenting meeting minutes and action items

• Taking responsibility for quality assurance within the program by ensuring that Project Services methodologies, standards and procedures are being adhered to

• Effectively communicating with key project stakeholders on project progress and facilitating open information flows among project stakeholders

• Supporting stakeholder and business client management (status reporting) interactions as well as general logistical, process, toolset and administrative support for the IT Project/Program Manager

• Establishing credibility with all levels of IT management



Qualifications:

Essential

§ A banking or consultancy background (5-10 years+ experience) and a strong understanding of structured program management in the banking arena.

§ A proven track record of successfully supporting large complex projects within a banking environment ( 5 -10 years+ experience)

§ Proven organizational, leadership and management skills

§ Ability to communicate effectively to senior managers

§ Ability to produce clear, concise reporting

§ Solid strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution and decision making skills

§ Demonstrated understanding and ability to perform risk analysis and management

§ Strong presentation development skills

§ Strong communication skills, in listening, oral and written communication

§ Good facilitation skills

§ Demonstrated influencing skills

§ Proven ability to communicate appropriately with all levels of Management in a clear, concise manner

§ Proven ability to work in a team, taking into consideration alternate points of view
