Career Tips: How Do You Measure Job Search Success?

As I prepared to present to The Breakfast Club last month on common
traps that trip up job seekers, it occurred to me that perhaps the
biggest mistake was not paying enough attention to ways to measure your
success. Many focus simply on a generic metric aimed at the end game,
like "how many interviews am I getting?" which sets them up for
frustration.
The key is to have targeted, interim metrics you can use to track your
progress, create focus and accountability, and unearth ways to increase
your success.
I wrote about how to do this in my latest issue of Career Tips.
I also included some valuable perspectives from readers on my advice in
the last issue, in response to a reader's question about how to ask
for an extended vacation far beyond the accrued days, without creating a
problem for career growth.
I announced the next offering of my popular free webinar "5 Secrets
to Getting a Job You'll Love" on March 17 - you can get details
in the newsletter, or at:

Finally, I addressed a question from a reader struggling to create some
career options and short term income.
