Job Description                   A major Investment Bank located in New York City is looking for a Business Analyst  Capital Markets.

                                                   The candidate will be working in the IT Group responsible for the accounting functions/systems.  This Division provides
                                                   Project Management and business analysis for the accounting systems, namely referential systems, reporting systems
                                                   And ledger systems.
 
                                                    Candidate will be working with both various business lines which use the Accounting data in their daily work.  Depending
                                                    On the application, they have a handful of power users and between 20 and 300 active users.
 
                                                     Responsibilities
 
                                                      Work with business partners within business functions to align technology solutions  with business strategies.  Demonstrate
                                                       an informed knowledge of a business area to resolve problems on an ongoing basis.
 
                                                       Support several business processes.  Design or integrate technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.                                                    
                                                       Serve as a coordinator of enhancement efforts.
 
                                                        Responsible for the collection ,analysis and documentation of a client's business requirements,  Responsibilities include but
                                                        May not be limited to the following:  Participate in planning sessions with a client to implement process improvement within
                                                        An assigned client area.  Generally involves using and improving information systems.  Document discussion and agreements.
 
                                                        Establish liason relationship with business partners.
 
Skills Required                           They manage  a variety of in house and vendor applications.  The candidate should be familiar with some of the following:

Overview

This position is directly responsible and accountable for architecting,
designing, implementing, administering and supporting MS SQL & other SQL
databases used in business application processes. Responsibilities include
data modeling, design, monitoring, maintenance, installation, performance
tuning, upgrades, security administration, and support of software
development life cycle.

The role of this position will be to maintain, monitor and audit DBMS
systems to ensure systems availability, accessibility and performance;
develop, implement and maintain programs, scripts, data warehouse, routines,
DBMS versions, patches, licenses and manage DB objects. Provide a high level
of database automation with a goal of high availability: build and monitor
backup, server recovery, clustering, mirroring, replication and fail-over
solutions.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

. B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent is
preferred.

. 6 years' experience in system analysis, design, implementation and
management of high availability and high performance DBMS systems

. Experience working with multiple relational databases, Windows
Server, Citrix and web technologies.

. Microsoft SQL Server, SQL replication, Oracle, electronic data
interchange (EDI), Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server platforms,
BI-Query (or equivalent) and ASP.

. Extensive knowledge of DDL, security, backup/recovery utilities
and performance/monitoring/tuning tools related to MS SQL DBMS.

. Comprehensive knowledge of IT governance principles, IT strategic
planning, management methodologies, as well as compliance and audit
practices.

. Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices

. Exposure to OLTP, OLAP & Cube design helpful.

. Prefer some experience with: Power Builder, JDE, SCADA, Spatial
Databases and Geographic Information Systems.

. Experience with UNIX/Linux systems helpful.

. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

. Self-motivated and the ability to learn quickly

. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels in
the organization

. Ability to motivate, lead and influence others.
