TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Development for WFUV
DEPARTMENT: Development and University Relations, Lincoln Center
RESPONSIBILITIES:
⢠The Director of Development for WFUV plans and implements strategies for
the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewarding of major gift
prospects for the Universityâs 50,000 watt, member-supported public radio
station.
⢠Reports to the Assistant Vice President of School and Constituent Programs,
this position directs fund-raising initiatives to support the priorities
established by the General Manager of WFUV as part of comprehensive
University-wide capital campaign.
⢠Management responsibilities include: coordination of the dean, faculty and
staff in creating the case and fundraising goals for WFUV programs and
priorities; serving as the primary DAUR liaison to WFUV and actively involving
the general manager gift solicitations of key donors and prospects especially
the stationâs Advisory Board and the Gala committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
⢠Requires a Bachelorâs degree in related field with a minimum of five (5)
years of professional fundraising experience, including demonstrated success at
raising major gifts by developing and implementing cultivation and solicitation
plans for gifts of $50,000 and above.
⢠Proven experience in the full spectrum of development including: gift
policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition, high level boards,
cultivation events and fundraising galas, support groups and administration.
⢠Experience in fundraising for public radio and/or the arts is highly
desirable.
⢠Must also demonstrate ability to write effective solicitations, proposals,
acknowledgements, and alumni/donor communications.
⢠Demonstrated interpersonal and team-building skills to establish and
maintain good working relationships with colleagues, faculty, donors,
volunteers, and universityâs officials, with an emphasis on tact, diplomacy,
flexibility, collaboration, professionalism, and discretion.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience

Landscape/Horticultural assistant needed for small high-end landscape design
company in Greenwich CT. We seek a motivated individual to join our team. You
will assist in all aspects of planting and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers
and lawns. Some grass cutting required. Candidate must have horticultural
training or similar work experience with excellent knowledge of planting and
cultural techniques including proper pruning, watering, soil preparation, etc.
Must have strong plant identification and diagnostic skills ââ¬â ability to
identify pests, diseases, cultural and irrigation problems and
recommend/implement corrective (and eco-friendly) practices.
Other responsibilities include selecting, purchasing and delivering materials,
use of mowers, blowers and string trimmers, scheduling, record keeping, and
communication with clients. Some office responsibilities may also be required.
This position requires lifting and moving heavy materials as a daily
responsibility. Must be able to work in various weather conditions, and a high
pressured/results oriented environment. Weekend work is often required.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Bilingual English/Spanish desired
Ability to work with and manage customer needs in a professional manner
Attention to detail
Strong problem solving skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to take direction and to work both as and team and independently
Qualified candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without
sponsorship
Clean driverââ¬â¢s license and ability to operate manual transmission dump truck.
Possession of own truck or van desirable
Must be able to lift and safely handle 50 - 100 lbs
Knowledge of mower/equipment maintenance a plus
Salary commensurate with experience
