FW: NYExUG - March Meeting Announcement - Vendor Demo of CAS Load Ba

Posted by: "John Rechenberg" jar1@optimum.net   john_rechenberg

Thu Mar 3, 2011 1:55 pm (PST)

Hello All,

Our March meeting is a vendor demo (Kemp Technologies) of an
Exchange Server 2010 (CAS) load balancing solution. Most people know about
DAGs, but to load balance a CAS in Windows, it's complicated. Enter a 3rd
party option with a strong selling point is they offer various price points
from SMBs (VM or 4 port hardware) to Enterprise (e.g. 18 GigE ports
supporting 10k SSL TPS). Full meeting details below.

Here is an upcoming event you do not want to miss. A big-shot in
the Exchange Server community (Adam Glick - Senior Technical Product Manager
w/Microsoft's Exchange Server group) is coming to NYC and will keynote the
Exchange Track at a FREE mini-Tech-Ed type event called Techstravaganza at
Microsoft's NY office on March 18 (9am-5pm). Also, I've convinced one of my
favorite speakers (Michael Murphy aka Murph) to return to speak at this
event. This event will have numerous tracks including Exchange (5 sessions),
PowerShell, SharePoint, Windows/Client Server, etc. I'll post updates as
necessary or feel free to check out the main website for more information.
To register for Techstravaganza, register

KEMP Technologies, Inc. will be demonstrating how to balance the CAS role of
Microsoft Exchange 2010 using a LoadMaster appliance. Recently tested and
approved by Microsoft, both the hardware LoadMaster series and Virtual
LoadMaster allow you to balance access to your CAS array. Whether you use
Outlook native RPC, Outlook Web App, Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync, POP3 or
IMAP4 you can be confident of balanced traffic and smooth failovers. A
senior applications engineer will demonstrate how to get up and running with
a live configuration in no time at all. The demo will continue by showing
how LoadMaster deals with server failure and how quickly your Outlook users
can be connected to a healthy server.

Question of the Month

Q) What upcoming free NYC based event will keynote a Senior Technical
Product Manager with Microsoft's Exchange Server group (Adam Glick)?

A) Hint - the answer is above.

Previous Question of the Month

Q) Microsoft recently announced they were re-adding a feature to Exchange
Server 2010 to allow what to work again?

A) Outlook 2003 in online mode. Previously only cached mode worked and even
then it had "non-normal" issues. See our QoTM section on our
<http://www.nyexug.com/question-of-the-month-archive/february-8-2011-questio
n-of-the-month/> website for the URL.
