Global Financial Firm located in New York, NY has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Project Manager. Seeking a motivated product and project manager to join the IT Security team. The team's products are broad and touch almost every technology area including network security, identities/ authentication, Unix and Windows platform security. The candidate will work closely with IT Security management, engineers and customers to set direction for a variety of technologies. The product manager will develop a clear solution and corresponding roadmap and articulate how the solution addresses specific business needs. Prior experience and technical knowledge will enable you to work effectively with deeply technical engineers. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: - Partner with engineers in IT Security and peer Enterprise Infrastructure teams to clearly understand their strategy and the underlying business drivers to develop product offerings, roadmap and plans. - Manage communications with management and peers to ensure a regular, consistent, and open dialogue amongst all the teams at almost every level. It is critical that the candidate be an outstanding communicator, both in terms of accurately understanding what our clients are requesting, and being able to effectively communicate our roadmap and requirements. Furthermore, the candidate will need to excel in both written and verbal communication. - Provide project management on large strategic projects that usually have large and major cross-team (within and outside IT Security) interactions. - Work with business management team to develop financial models on cost to deliver IT Security product and services. Skills Required The ideal candidate must have sufficient technical experience and background to function with deeply technical personnel. Recent hands-on skills in these technology areas are not required. - Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written - Effective use of PowerPoint and Excel - BA/BS degree or equivalent experience - Experience in broad categories of IT infrastructure including: - Identities management, authentication - Network security and security monitoring - Unix and Windows platform security - Solid understanding of security best practices - Well versed in project planning, scheduling and prioritization - Execution-focused: capable of driving projects from conception to completion - Able to negotiate and influence to manage conflicting priorities amongst multiple clients - Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Able to work very quickly and accurately with an eye for detail Skills Desired The ideal candidate must have sufficient technical experience and background to function with deeply technical personnel.
