Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead member of this team, the individual will have the following
responsibilities:
· Technical architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and
support of the systems that serve needs of Financial Services Organization
· Lead small to mid-sized development teams involved in
full-lifecycle development efforts which are based J2EE, Linux/Unix and
Oracle technologies
· Responsible for code quality and assurance by focusing on static
code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous
integration, release management, performance tuning, test strategy and
execution
· Partner with System Analysts and Project Managers to implement

· Partner with Project Managers, Technical and QA Leads on
estimates, statuses, identify issues and raise risks
· Provide hands-on development and mentoring of other more junior

Required Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and proven
ability to design and deliver solutions relevant to complex business
problems.
· Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills.
· Ability to articulate technical solutions to system analysts and
business teams without using too much technical jargon
· 6-8 years of experience including 2-3 years of experience in
leading a software engineering team with onshore and offshore resources
· At least 2-3 years experience working with enterprise messaging
such as the MQ/Active MQ messaging system and distributed computing
platforms.
· 3-4 years of proven object-oriented software design and
development experience in Java-based technologies
· 2-3 years of proven software development experience with
browser-based applications and technologies
· At least 4 years of experience and expert-level proficiency at
Database development in Oracle
· 3+ years of proven experience with such technologies as web
services, XML/XSLT, Struts, Grails, log4j, ANT, Spring, AJAX
· Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application
servers such as Tomcat or BEA WebLogic 9.x
· Financial industry knowledge is a plus
· Experience with iterative software development methodologies, such

Keys to this Position:
1. Technical: We are seeking well rounded developers with the following
technical skills: Java, J2EE, Oracle, Web Services, MQ or Active MQ
Messaging skills. ETL or Datastage is a plus. Some roles are more focused
on Tomcat, Spring and Struts along with Java, Oracle. The Senior role is 80
to 90% coding.
2. For the Lead role the position is 50 to 70% hands on coding and the
balance is leading a team. The Lead should have experience leading a team
of 5 to 10 developers. Must have experience leading offshore teams. Firm
uses an on and offshore model.
3. Excellent Communication skills are required. This individual will need

The Lead Developer will participate in an existing project to rewrite the
Performance Analytics reporting system. The system is a large, complicated

hit the ground running with minimal training, and should be familiar with
