Senior Business Systems Analyst
Financial and Risk Management
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for driving business requirements definition and scope.
* Collaborate closely with clients to identify and understand business requirements including the exploration of viable options and alternatives
* Responsible for development of Business Requirements Document; Requirements Traceability Matrix, Use Cases and User Acceptance Test Plans in close collaboration with the business client and AIT peers.
* Responsible for consistent on-time delivery of quality deliverables in accordance with agreed upon plans.
* Develop expertise to navigate and engage the V-Model SDLC methodology within a Plan/Deliver/QA/Operate model.
* Endorse a winning culture with a repeatable, process-based approach in which all members of the organization recognize the interdependence of the Plan/Deliver/QA/Operate model and their role in effectively delivering for the business customers.
* Responsible for developing personal capabilities measured against *best in industry* standard practices.
* Seek input from multiple sources/levels within the organization and incorporate that knowledge into action plans.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
* Critical domain is in the definition of logical functional requirements that trace back to the business requirements, in collaboration with the lead developer for technical design.
* Accountable for the creation of the Functional Specification Document (FSD), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), and Software Architecture Document (SAD) in collaboration with the Lead Developer. Engages business customers and technical systems analysts as active participants in the Requirements and Design Phases of initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for driving logical system solutions which trace back to Business Requirement Document (BRD).
* Collaborate closely with Business System Analyst and Lead Developer to understand business requirements and identify best system solutions including the exploration of viable options and alternatives.
* Responsible for development of Functional Specification Document (FSD) and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM); work closely with Lead Developer to complete the Technical Specification.
* Adherence to Functional Specification Document standards, best practices and guidelines laid out in the industry.

* Develop expertise to navigate and engage the Annuities Information Technology (AIT) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology within a Plan/Deliver/Quality Assurance/Operate model.

* On occasion, fill in for the lead TSA or assume lead responsibilities on smaller projects.
* Mentor Junior Technical Systems Analysts as they oversee the Requirements and Design Phases of team projects.

The Business Analyst is a crucial role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between Business needs and Technology delivery in a user-centered development environment. The Analyst will participate in regular meetings with both Technology and Business Partners to facilitate the understanding, clarification, and implementation of requirements. The Analyst will work closely with the Business Partner and Business Subject Matter Expert(s) in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements.

Responsibilities:
· Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs, systems capabilities and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, Systems Functional Requirements
· Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
· Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
· Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
· Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
· Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
· Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
· Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
· Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
· Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

Qualifications
· Process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods and techniques such as interviews, focus groups, surveys, workshops etc, and choose the right technique for different elicitation situations.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.
· Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
· Strong facilitation skills; must be able to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational and geographical boundaries
· Proven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders
· BA/BS degree preferred
