A client of mine in the aerospace industry in the Northeast has a
nearly-created position for a Vice President, New Product/Service
Development (NPSD) & Sustaining Engineering (SE), which I am helping them to
staff. This is a small privately-owned company, founded 40+ years ago. This
position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and has line
responsibility for the company's engineering resources.

The person in this position will lead and manage all aspects of the
company's New Product / Service Development (NPSD) process, driving
conception, development and marketplace introduction of new product and
service offerings that increase company profitability. He or she will lead
and manage all engineering resources within the company, in support of both
NPSD as well as Sustaining Engineering (SE) on existing products & services,
as relates to, for example, product option incorporation to meet customer
needs, any necessary product final technical calibrations / inspections,
cost reduction initiatives, customer field service / support, field
warrantee issue resolution, etc. Additionally, he/she will function as a
productive, fully engaged member of the company executive leadership team
responsible for meeting all assigned corporate, financial, policy deployment
and managerial SMART Goals.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:

. MS Engineering or BS in Engineering with MBA.

. Significant track record of technical AND business acumen, with
demonstrated ability to bridge gap between technical & business
perspectives.

. 7 years experience in Engineering roles, with at least 3 of these 7 years
in leadership roles.

. 10 years experience in roles relevant to NPSD (e.g. Engineering, Sales,
Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, etc), with at least 5 of these 10
years in leadership roles.

. 3 years experience within a formal, documented company-wide NPD process.

. 5 years experience within technology-based manufacturing companies within
the aerospace and / or defense industries.

. Substantial track record of championing successful new product / service
development efforts, from conception to fruition, with several significant
related accomplishments within the last 5 years.

. Substantial track record of effectively teaming with Sales / Marketing to
successfully mine existing and prospective customers for significant unmet
needs and profitable business opportunities, with several significant
related accomplishments within the last 5 years.

. Substantial track record of successfully "leading by influence" (vs.

last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications include the following:
