o IT Employment Continues Gains in November; Up 2.1% in Past Year
Alexandria, Va. -- The U.S. information technology sector gained 7,100 jobs in November and now has gained more than 84,000 jobs since Nov. 2010, up 2.1%, according to new figures released by the Alexandria-based TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT services firms, clients, consultants and suppliers. By comparison, overall U.S. job growth was less than 0.1 percent in November, and is up 1.2% compared with the same time last year. "Despite a mixed report on the overall jobs market, demand for IT professionals remains strong," stated Mark Roberts, CEO of the TechServe Alliance. "I remain very bullish on the prospects for continued growth in 2012 and anticipate IT employment will surpass its all-time high set back in June 2008."
