One of the great joys of my book tour has been meeting so many NEA fans in person. Eric Standlee was one, and on my blog, this director of business development from Texas shares how his strategic use of LinkedIn, combined with the monthly happy hours he hosts, contributed to his company's monthly revenue rising from 1 million to 15 million. REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SALARY: DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Job Summary:
Mid-size, retail distribution and supply chain Management Company located in
Somerset, NJ is looking for a hands on CFO to join our rapidly growing
organization. The candidate will have responsibility for the Accounting and
Finance function, Internal Control, Strategic Planning as well as presentations to
the Board of Directors, high profile customers, and other members of the executive
team. This opportunity is with a growing Global organization and requires a keen
strategist with significant financial leadership experience.

As a growing distribution organization we welcome candidates who have experience
leading the finance function in a global mid-size private or public company.
This position would not be a good fit for a large public company CFO.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Corporate Finance/Accounting: Significant experience implementing streamlined and
efficient accounting and financial systems and processes to support all company
functions both in the USA and our expanding international footprint:

-Responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting for the Company in
accordance with US GAAP and exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS).
-Review existing international and domestic accounting functions and determine the
appropriate and optimal organization and structure.
-Review financial trends, ascertain their significance and draw conclusions
regarding financial implications. Make recommendations based on findings.
-Establish banking and financing relationships to meet the company's growing
capital requirements.
-Direct all aspects of cash management
-Serve as the principal contact with the Company's auditors.
-Responsible for USA and Foreign tax reporting.
- Maintain positive employee relations. Direct, develop and coach department
personnel to work to full potential. Recognize employees who exceed levels of
performance. Implement corrective action procedures with employees whose
performance or conduct does not meet required levels.
Internal Controls:
-Review and implement a system of rigorous internal controls.
- Ensure that strong internal controls and accounting systems are in place and that
all accounting conforms to the company's standards.

Strategic Planning and Execution: Candidate will have strong experience
providing and communicating a depth of financial strategic insight and analysis
throughout the organization and guide critical decision making.

-Develop a comprehensive "Financial Dashboard" reporting system.
-Delegate, supervise and approve the preparation of internal budget, forecast and
financial modeling.
-Establish a rolling forecast process.

Presentation Skills: We require a CFO with polished presentation skills.
Regular reporting to the Board of Directors, customers, regulatory agencies,
strategic business partners and corporations aligned with the goals and mission of
our organization is required.

Team Player: Candidates must be able to form solid working relationships and a
strong atmosphere of teamwork within the finance department. The candidate will be
a leader who can influence by modeling a depth of experience/knowledg e and garner
trust, credibility and cooperation with other HQ departments as well as other
company locations in the USS and internationally Must be able to mentor other
department heads regarding financial matters. As an experienced finance
executive you will have acquired sensitivity to and knowledge of multi-cultural
issues, an appreciation of GAPP and IFRS differences, audit requirements unique to
each foreign location in which we operate, international exchange rates and currency
management.

Job Requirements:

-Must have MBA and or CPA.
-10+ years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment in
management capacity.
-A mix of public and private Company experience is preferred but not required.
-Knowledge of ERP systems is required.
-Must embrace principles of 'lean' - manufacturing, accounting, and processes etc
and believe in continuous process improvement.
-Proficiency with office automation software (MS Office Suite incl MS Access)
-Strong interpersonal skills, quickly able to establish credibility with a broad
range of individuals within and outside the company.
-The ability to focus on the current operations, as well as broader strategic
objectives within the company: Think strategically, act tactically.
-The ability to work in a team environment based on credibility gained from results
more than authority.
-A self-confident leader with a positive and proactive management style and a proven
record of mentoring and developing staff.
-A person who is appropriately assertive and can gain consensus for his/her views.
-Experience with the "Big Box" retailers on a Finance or Accounting level is
preferred.

About the Job
Our
client, a Global e-commerce and multi-channeling solution provider with a
roster of reputable brand name retail partners is looking for a dynamic
software engineering professional with a solid history of success. The Sr.
Technical Manager is based in King of Prussia, PA driving our International
product development to support our global platform expansion. This is a key leadership
position within the Technology and Information Services (TIS) department of the
company. He/she will be accountable for cross-system development teams
delivering high quality, end to end e-commerce solutions. The position requires
solid customer focus and drive for continuous improvement of our clients'
overall satisfaction. The qualified candidate will oversee all development
activities across all areas of the projects; including all internal and
external parties. The Sr. Technical Manager drives the technical solution
through requirements, design, development, test and deployment. The Sr.
Technical Manager uses his/her years of technology industry experience to
manage risk and ensure overall project success.

Responsibilities:
* Partner facing responsibilities across all levels of the client's organization.
* Accountable for the end-to-end eCommerce technical solution with a focus on global expansion of the company's platform.
* Lead and coordinate multiple technical teams across the company's US and International offices for successful development and delivery of strategic global initiatives.
* Accountable for the accuracy and consistency of development artifacts like functional and system level requirement specifications, technical design documents, project estimates, project plan & deployment plan thru review and signoff.
* Review and approve work estimates from the project staff.
* Proactively identify all impediments that impact development plan, provide directions to project team members for timely resolution and work with Project Manager to assign owners and track progress.
* Ensure effective involvement of supporting organizations like configuration management, QA, DBA to ensure successful project execution
* Oversee adherence to development standards and policies as defined by Development Management
* Build the WBS for the development activities based on effort, developer staffing and other dependencies. Distribute to the PM to incorporate into the project WBS for tracking purposes. Work with Project Manager on project change management
* Participate in project wrap-up sessions to highlight successes and failures of the team. Create and manage remediation plans focusing on continuous improvement
* Assist mentoring junior developers on development process and methodology.
* Assist the Development Resource Manager with performance evaluation of team members providing input on job performance
* Approximately 5 days or less travel expected per quarter.

* Required:
* Candidates must have 7+ years leadership experience.
* Candidates must have lead a team of 10 or more.
* Candidates must have experience developing, refactoring and supporting applications for international markets.
* This experience must be detailed in the resume. There cannot be hints of this but rather clear references and detail to having this experience.
* Candidates must have demonstrated past experience leading Java application development projects.
* Candidates must have experience with a demonstrated Technical Background.
* Preferred:
* Candidates with SaaS experience. (Software as a Service)
* Candidates with retail or eCommerce experience.
* Candidates with experience developing international B2C eCommerce.
* Candidates with demonstrated past experience with Oracle 10g RAC, BEA Web Logic 10 or higher.
* Candidates with experience managing integrations with Web Services.
* Candidates with experience leading Spring /MVC / Struts Application Frameworks.
* Experience developing or refactoring systems for international markets required.
* Experience with developing international B2C ecommerce.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required
* Demonstrated past experience leading Java i5 Series application development projects
* Demonstrated past experience with Oracle 10g RAC, BEA Web Logic 10 or higher desired
* Experience managing integrations with XML / SOAP technologies is desired
* Experience leading MVC / Apache Struts Web Application Frameworks is desired
* Demonstrated leadership skills, bias for action, high energy, customer focus, results driven, strong communication, teaming and coordination skills.
* Background in a consulting role is desired but not required.
* Must have demonstrated skills/abilities in the following areas: capability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, drives and meets stretch goals, demonstrates trust and works effectively with peers, management and customers, proactively identifies and resolves issues, possesses innovative and critical thinking skills to drive to root cause, inspires others to excel and drives continuous improvement.
