[itroundtable] Positions with the US Navy

Below is information about job opportunities with the Navy. Also attached are the positions they refer to.

Mr. Alvarez, We were informed by our headquarters in Patuxent River that there was a group of engineers that were recently released from your organization and are looking for employment. As discussed on the phone, NAVAIR 4.8,Support Equipment and Aircraft Launch & Recovery Department is seeking additional staff to support the test program at the NAVAIR Lakehurst Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) test facility.

EMALS employs state-of-the-art linear motor, power conditioning, energy storage system (motor/generator) and control system technologies. CDR was completed in November 2008 and commissioning testing began in October 2009. The EMALS program is entering the final phases of commissioning/integration, System Functional Demonstration (system verification) and aircraft compatibility testing.

EMALS will provide the U.S. Navy with the ability to launch all existing and projected aircraft carrier based air vehicles well into the future. The system is designed for installation on the next generation aircraft carriers (CVN78 and beyond) to propel naval aircraft to their required safe takeoff airspeeds when operating from the carrier flight deck. EMALS will support reduced downtime, manning, maintenance, and support costs. EMALS will not only provide a significant increase in available launch energy but offers several other advantages not available with the steam catapult design. Increased reliability, higher efficiency, reduced manning, lower peak to mean forces throughout the launch spectrum and the capability to support lighter weight aircraft are other significant advantages.

We currently have multiple open positions in Software Engineering as well as Instrumentation (Test) Engineering. Please see attachment for more information on these EMALS positions.

In addition to the above EMALS positions, we also have other open EE and ME engineering positions available in the following areas:

Aircraft Wiring and/or Fiber Optic troubleshooting and repair equipment Low Observable coating evaluation and repair Aircraft Engine Test Systems The design, planning, and oversight of shipboard equipment installations Aviation facilities site surveys, reviews, planning and design Weapons transport and loading equipment

Please provide a list of names and resumes of candidates that are a match for the above positions. We will review resumes and then arrange with you to interview any candidates that are a match for our positions. Please give me a call if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.
