Position Responsibilities – Summary

The EDC-Middleware Delivery team seeks a Sr. Middleware Engineer who will be
responsible for the evaluation, design, build, and support of middleware
products.

This individual will be primarily responsible for building middleware
infrastructure and delivering application teams value-add services including
products evaluation, system design, performance tuning, capacity management,
and systems integration. The person will also be responsible for promoting
standard IT processes and architectural best practices.

Key Responsibilities;

As a Senior Middleware Engineer the candidate will have following
responsibilities:
· Work on the design, implementation, deployment, and support of the
middleware infrastructure
· Evaluate middleware product's features, upgrades and migration
path
· Work with platform, operations and application teams to implement
middleware infrastructure standards, best practices and guidelines
· Conduct Infrastructure configuration tests by developing test
plans, scripts and presenting results
· Provide technical leadership and mentoring, promoting adherence to
standardized IT processes, strategic principles and architectural standards

Key to this Position:

1. The candidate must have Weblogic, preferably Oracle Fusion which is
Weblogic's most recent version. (Oracle bought BEA Weblogic so it is now an
Oracle product).
2. Tomcat is also required.
3. The candidate will likely also have Load Balancers and some development
background, such as Java and Spring Frameworks. Messaging is also a plus.
4. This is a middleware engineering role (not a developer/architect or
admin).
5. The candidate should be well versed in Infrastructure and ITIL
processes.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 6+ years in middleware technologies including WebLogic, WebSphere,
Tomcat, JMS and Spring Framework
· 2+ years in Java/JEE development
· Knowledge of WebSphere MQ, Active MQ and Oracle UCM is a strong
plus
· Project management skills is a plus
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment
