Position Responsibilities Summary
The role of the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is a liaison between IT
and the business. The BRM has significant knowledge in subject matters
pertaining to both IT and the business. The BRM is responsible to understand
the business, assist in the prioritization and management of projects,
ensure that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum
return on investment, and direct IT strategy in support of the overall
business strategy.
Responsible (Works in a collaborative team environment)
· Works with the Internal and External Technology teams to design a
business solution
· Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency
· Works with the Business, Internal and External Technology teams to
create Service Level Agreements (SLA)
· Engages all resources needed to deliver a sound business and
technology solution
· Provide overall leadership in managing cross-functional teams
Accountable (Works to fulfill the commitment)
· Manages the resources and the project following a lifecycle
approach
· Delivers commitments on-time and on-budget
· Addresses project issue and seeks swift resolutions
· Develops long-range technology strategies
· Provides initial project estimates for cost-benefit analysis
· Communicates with the project team, management and steering
committee members
· Monitors the portfolio to align and make recommendations to the
PMO to prioritize and balance supply and demand.
Consultant (Advises on the task)
· Participates in technology aspects of business-sponsored requests
· Evaluates project objectives
· Reviews project priorities and resources based on availability
· New business initiative analysis
Informed (Is advised on the task)
· Works with Business Partners to gain an understanding of business
strategies
· Gathers information on competitor technology
· Stays abreast of industry trends in the business and technology
· Stays abreast of organization goals and emerging themes
Key Role Interactions:
Business Partners
The BRM works with the business at several organizational levels. The BRM
will work with the business area teams to understand project requirements,
shape the initial project request, and provide a high-level estimate of the
project effort and costs used in realizing. The BRM will regularly report
back to business managers on the status of projects.
Application Architects
Early in the process, the BRM works with the architects to discuss potential
solutions that match the business strategy with the technology strategy. The
architects will also provide consulting on additional costs due to
additional equipment or increased capacity requirements.
Project Managers
The BRM functions as a project manager and is responsible to effectively
delivery the initiative, by determining the resources (people, technology,
etc.), a timeline, and the costs associated with the project. Throughout a
project, the BRM will distribute project status in order to provide business
managers with regular communications. During the project, the BRM will work
as a facilitator to ensure discussions occur regarding the resolution of
issues, risks and impasses between the technology team and the business
teams.
Budget & Planning
The BRM may also need to work and supply information through their IT
Management to provide information for the Organization's annual planning
process, monthly forecasts, and in tracking the project's overall spend.
Professional Skills
The BRM needs to have subject matter expertise in both the business and
technology. The position requires the ability to understand the business
sufficiently to communicate the importance of projects to the technology
teams, as well as to understand the technology sufficiently to communicate
the complexity in simple terms for the business.

Position Responsibilities Summary
· Manages the activities related to the design, procurement, testing
and operations in support of server related technical projects.
· Oversees the daily activities of direct reports. Coaches and
mentors staff towards career development.
· Manages, maintains and implements applications/technologies and
associated systems standards.
· Negotiates and establishes vendor business partner relationships
to ensure best pricing and service level delivery.
· Establishes and maintains budgets and associated expenditures
along with acquisition methodologies for assigned applications/technologies,

· Evaluates and acquires new/upgraded software and hardware

Reports to Manager of Technical Services - Global Infrastructure
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 8+ years Information Technology experience in large data center,
distributed, multi-location, multi-protocol, networked environment.
Candidates must have experience working in an environment of a 500 - 1000+
Windows Servers or very close to this number.
· 5+ years of management experience Need experience managing a
group of 25-30 people Person best suited for this role will have come up
thru a hands-on technical role and can still engage hands-on as needed.
Needs to be hands-on technically in the technologies specified.
· Experience building Windows Based Servers.
· Experience with VMware, Citrix, Active Directory and Clustering.
· Experience with the acquisition and management of technology
including midrange, desktop and other hardware, software and network related
areas.
· Extensive technical experience in current infrastructure
technologies used at the firm. These technologies include, but are not
limited to: Mainframe, Servers, Desktops, Peripherals, Wireless Devices,
Miscellaneous Appliances, Storage Devices, Operating Systems, Utilities,
Monitoring Tools, Software Packages, Networks, etc.
· Experience in current development methodologies, audit and SOX
compliance, security practices, middleware, change management compliance,
database technology, etc.
· Solid understanding of hardware, operating systems and associated
technologies including both current technologies and future trends for
industry strategic hardware and software in the assigned environment.
· Ability to manage and adjust multiple priorities in a fast paced,
rapidly changing environment.
· Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies and business
requirements.
· Cross platform technical knowledge.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Retail experience preferred but not mandatory.
