Hi Tony,

Of course I remember you! Since Ken was unavailable at the last WNO meeting,
he gave me your "landed" email to read to the group. Your sentiments about
the WNO were very much appreciated. You expressed what we had hoped the WNO
to become.

Yes, I'm the person who was passed up for a position based on my hair style.
With today's job market, often it is a toss of the coin (or hair as the case
may be).

I've not found work yet, but have some leads in the pipeline.

Take care and, if you're able, feel free to visit WNO. Networking is a
lifelong pursuit.

Warm wishes,

- Maurene

Hello Maurene,

I don't know if you remember me. We met at St. Patricks in Yorktown Heights
EARN meeting You can see my face at http://www.tonytoro.com I had missed
the last couple of meetings. I wanted to say hello. I just watched your
"Me 2.0: Your Online Persona" which you presented on my birthday which was
the 21'st. Have you found work? I just started Monday with IBM. It was 7
months I had been without work. I hope you're doing well. Do I remember
you as the person who was passed up for a position based on hair style? The
two candidates were so equally matched the decision was a coin toss or in
this matter a hair style toss?

All the best,

Would start off figuring out how to improve the QA process and bring the QA team to where it needs to be. This candidate would need to blend technical skills, financial industry experience, diplomacy and leadership in order to succeed as the QA Manager. Should be able to bring QA "best practices" to the QA department. Must have the type of personal skills that would allow candidate to quickly gain an understanding of the organization, build positive relationships, and define the process that should be put in place.

Lean Healthcare Performance Improvement Leaders (3) - St. Louis MO

Posted by: "Keith Bogen" keith.bogen@yahoo.com   hrslugger2002

Mon Aug 3, 2009 10:16 pm (PDT)

We have been retained by a large medical center in St. Louis , to find two or three Performance Improvement Leaders. These positions are Lean implementation roles and will be key members of the hospital´s Lean team. The role is a single contributor role . We have recently placed the Director of Lean at this medical center and she is responsible for creating the Lean team and implementing the improvement process . Her background is a Lean purist background and she has worked for two different Danaher companies . We are seeking individuals with backgrounds at Toyota , Danaher, HON, Honda, Esselte, or other companies that have implemented a true TPS Lean process .

Key qualifications:
* Formal Lean training and implementation experience .
* Cellular manufacturing and use of Lean in transactional processes.
* Strong communication skills . Must be able to lead the Lean process in a Value Stream and coach associates to use the Lean process .
* Must have significant experience leading 5-day Kaizens .
* Personality and demeanor must fit the hospital and patient care environment . The candidate must be able to make the change from manufacturing to healthcare .
* Proven success using and leading Lean change .
* Team orientation and successful in a team environment .
* Experience in healthcare is NOT a requirement.

Base salary will be around $90K, based on the candidate´s background . A relocation package is included .

As you may be aware, Lean is new to healthcare with the first medical institutions beginning their Lean journey only 3 to 4 years ago . Many hospital and clinics adapted Six Sigma over 10 years ago, but now have realized that Six Sigma does not deeply involve the associates, does not change culture, and does not give them a method to continuously improve . With the state of our healthcare system in the USA , Lean will offer many opportunities . If you want more information regarding Lean healthcare results, I will be happy to send you articles.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide with referrals to persons who may have interest and be qualified for this position. I look forward to receiving your resume and having a further conversation regarding your background.
