This position will work within a small team supporting PeopleSoft Financials and Hyperion Essbase. We are seeking individuals with knowledge of one or more of the following PeopleSoft modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Cash Management. This position is targeted at dynamic individuals who have strong technical development skills as well as being strong written/verbal communicators. Opportunity: You will be able to work with multiple modules and be able to participate in all functional and technical aspects of the project using the latest release of PeopleSoft 9.0, tools 8.9, and Oracle 10G. Responsibilities: - Participate in PeopleSoft implementation by analyzing user requirements, producing documentation, specifications, etc.
- Initiate and champion new business processes to improve efficiency in the accounting cycle.
- Develop test cases and test plans to assure quality delivery throughout the implementation.
- Understand, document, and improve internal control processes [including security designs] for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
- Work with various reporting and business-intelligence technologies to deliver effective financial statement reporting and analysis to users.
- Implement and improve upon user interfaces, spreadsheet upload processes, and data interfaces from external systems. Customizations to application as needed.
- Maintain configuration including chartfields and security.
- Develop subject-matter expertise over individual modules
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Computer Science
- Five to Eight years technical development experience with PeopleSoft applications [GL, AP, T&E preferred]
- Technical experience with PeopleSoft: Oracle, SQL, Application Designer, PeopleTools, XML Publisher, nVision, PSQUERY, PeopleCode.
- Knowledge of accounting, US GAAP, SOX/Internal Controls
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities
- Self motivated, high commitment energy/level, and results oriented
- Adaptive, eager to learn, and persistent in problem solving.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively and comfort with a team environment
Helpful: - Experience in financial services industry or dedicated PeopleSoft consulting experience
- Understanding of multi-currency / multi-gaap accounting / consolidation accounting
- Exposure to business intelligence tools, especially Essbase
- Other technical skills: Visual Basic, Excel VBA, MS Project, Unix, SQL Server, Java, PL-SQL
