Application Developer
Reports to the Project Manager for Rutgers Integrated Administrative System (RIAS). Provides analytical and programming support for various university administrative and academic offices with emphasis in the support of REX-RIAS Extended System. Responsible for the analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of web-based information systems. Writes new code and maintains existing code, and provides users with programs for reporting and updating databases as required. Prepares tests to verify that the unit program is working. Consults with the Associate Director, project managers, and user department staff to gather and clarify requirements for proposed development projects, system enhancements, and maintenance. Identifies and suggests business and systems solutions to related problems. Writes specifications for all programming development assignments. Drafts operational documentation for new and revised applications providing clear and concise instructions for installation in testing and production environments. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related technology field or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience. Also requires three or more years of progressive experience in an analytical and programming environment with an emphasis on open standards based system development, web and internet technologies that focus on Microsoft technology stack (IIS, .Net, ASP, C#, SQL Server) and Crystal Reports.
