DIRECTOR FOR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

The Strategic Program Office of Fordham University's IT Department, located at our Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, NY, is currently seeking a Director for Business Intelligence to define the information, reporting and analytical needs of the University's key stakeholders, and develop goals, strategies and plans to achieve a vision of sustainable competitive advantages through the strategic use of information. In this key role, you will lead and manage the resources of the Business Intelligence Group to execute business plans and develop processes designed to achieve the University's established goal of becoming an "information broker". You will be responsible for defining, analyzing and prioritizing the information, self-service reporting, and analytical needs of Fordham's key stakeholder groups, and developing and communicating goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, milestones, and key performance metrics for advancing the University's "information broker" vision, as well as developing and managing supporting and related business processes. You will communicate plans and progress with senior management on a regular basis; direct, coordinate and evaluate staff; keep current with the direction of the business and the needs of internal customers; and establish and maintain excellent inter-departmental communication so that roles, requirements, dependencies, decisions, and work processes are clearly articulated and understood.

To qualify, a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field is strongly preferred. Must have a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, demonstrating professional and management capability. Thorough knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g. WebFOCUS, Cognos) and demonstrated expertise in developing analytical solutions, data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information are required. We seek an individual with experience managing large and complex business intelligence and data workhouse projects and proven leadership skills who can clearly establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results, as well as build and motivate a team to achieve well-communicated expectations. You must be able to work effectively across internal functional areas in situations where clear parameters may not be present. A broad understanding of higher education is beneficial, although similar experience in other business fields will be considered favorably. Familiarity with Higher Education and University administrative software and toolsets (e.g. Banner) is desirable.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, including tuition remission. Please email cover letter, resume and salary requirements to:
