Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, September 14th at the Microsoft
Office in Iselin, NJ (101 Wood Avenue South, 9th floor.) Please consider
attending, especially those of you who work and/or live in the East Central
area of NJ.

The meeting topic is Office 2010 and the meeting will be catered, so there
is no need to worry about dinner. A door prize will be raffled off also.
Please see the attached for directions, the meeting details and other

* It happens to the best of us. You hit a bump in the rocky road of your
career and find yourself out of work for longer than you'd like. Being out
of work for an extended period of time does more damage than just a gap in
your resume. It affects your self esteem, how you view yourself, and what
you believe you can bring to the table. Everyone has doubts at some point in
their career; this is your time. Know that you can and will get past this
bump. So how do you bounce back?

* Getting Past the Telephone Screening Interview
*<http://www.net-temps.com/adcgi/keywords.cgi?vendor=crossroads&kw=4037>
When an employer calls to say, "We'd like to discuss your qualifications a
bit," what they are really saying is, "We want to know more about your exact
skills and verify your resume, before we offer you an interview." In today's
job market this kind of screening process has become very popular and is
frequently used. You don't want to be one who is not scheduled for the
in-person interview.

* How Pen and Paper Can Work Magic in Your Job Search
*<http://www.net-temps.com/adcgi/keywords.cgi?vendor=crossroads&kw=4038>
What separates successful job seekers from those who struggle to get hired?
Two things: clarity and motivation. You must be clear about the job you
seek, the results you've produced before, and the employers you want to work
for. And you need motivation to persist through long hours of research,
networking, false hopes, and follow-up that may lie between you and your
next job. Want to know an easy, effective way to get more clarity and
motivation in your job search? It's as easy as taking pen to paper. In fact,
that's what it is: taking pen to paper. Why does this help?

Layoffs, companies closing, 401K's that look more like 201K's–these are
jittery times. If you aren't wondering if your job security is at risk, you
probably should be. But rather than spike your blood pressure, why not take
some smart steps to recession-proof your career? If this is new territory
for you, these tips may help you sleep at night.
