Posted by: "John Barry" John@itechcp.com   itechjohn

Mon Dec 20, 2010 9:21 am (PST)

Title: Help Desk Consultant (2 openings)
Location: Shelton, CT
Duration: Starting the last week of December though January 2011 (approx. 1
month)

Overview
The client is going live on 1/1/2011 with Oracle payroll and they need
someone to help manage the help desk queue. The group feels that they will
get inundated with help desk tickets when the payroll goes live.
Responsibilities include the following:
. Managing Help desk queue, updating help desk tickets
. Resetting passwords
. Giving out instructions for users to view pay stubs online. One
major change is that users will be able to view their paystubs online and
many users have probably never logged on to the system so they are
anticipating a lot of inquiries related to this.

Qualifications

* Help desk experience, i.e., managing help desk queues, prioritizing
and updating help desk tickets, resetting passwords

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

* Oracle experience is a plus but not a requirement

John:

I am sending you my resume for the temporary position in Shelton, CT

I have experience in help desk but not really recent. I advanced to management
and worked my way up through the companies that I worked for. I would like to
look at my resume and consider me for the temp position. Back when I was
employed with Konica Business Technologies I originally set up a help desk for
the digital products for the company along with creating a laboratory for the
technicians so that reported could be recreated by the technician on the phone.
This allowed them to help the customers to resolved their problem over the phone
or allow them document and escalate the problem to the engineering group to be
addressed. The help desk supported the hardware and the software products that
the company sold.

Let me answer the mystery of the "could not open files". There are 2 files
downloaded with no file extensions on them. However, I could not rename them
to doc files, since the .doc file extensions exist on two similarly name
files. I think the 2 files should be deleted, but I think we should talk
first.

I'm set up with the labels, walk-in sheets, registration sheets. My dropbox
files are up to date on my laptop. I'm picking up Steven B. at 10 to 4
tonight, which should give us plenty of time to get to WNO tonight. (Eh wot,
Rob Candee?). I just need to set up my file folder, business cards and some
clothing.

P.S. - I thought the scavenger hunt games looked good.

Thanks to all,

John Rechenberg, PMP

Subject: [WNO Committee] Monday Networking Activity - Feedback Requested!

Hi Everyone,

I've just deposited four documents related to tomorrow "Scavenger Hunt" into
DropBox:

(1) Master Questions - A consolidated list of all six teams' questions.
(Given the number of respondents, I've created a sixth team.) Please review
and provide any suggested edits no later than 1 pm tomorrow. (Carolina,
your earlier suggestions have already been incorporated into this version.)

(2) Team Worksheet - A sample of the worksheet each team will receive.
(Once the "Master Questions" have been finalized, I'll create the final
worksheets.)

(3) Preparation - Essentially a check-list for my use; less important for
the group.

(4) Implementation - Draft of the suggested process-flow of the activity
itself, including suggested speaker's notes for the Facilitator.

If possible, please review the "Master Questions" and especially the
"Implementation" document carefully and provide feedback. Please think
through the mechanics, suggested timing, etc. Everyone on the Committee is
more familiar with the WNO than I am, so your feedback will be very
important. Whoever is serving as tomorrow's Facilitator -- Les? -- will also
want to familiarize himself with the suggested process flow and talking
points.

Thanks, everyone! I apologize for the late date (and fast requested
turnaround-time), but hopefully you'll have a chance to review the documents
by tomorrow afternoon.

Any questions, just let me know.
