Listedbelow are next week's upcoming Networking Events. All meetings are open to thepublic, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attending at least one or two meetings aweek, what you learn there will definitely help shorten your time intransition. Also, many of these groups convene in the evening, so it will nottake time away from your daily job search activities.
Think ofthese meetings as opportunities, sort of like going to school, to learnsomething that can reduce your time in transition by gaining knowledge in jobsearch and interviewing skills needed to excel and standout from yourcompetition.
Intraveling to these meetings, consider car pooling. Not only will it reduce thecost of driving there, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem togo much faster.
Nextweek I will be distributing the list of Upcoming August Networking meeting. If anyone is aware of an upcoming meeting thatyou would like to share with the group, please let me know and I will gladlyinclude it with my weekly updates. out tomorrow.
Join us for the July 27 Networkers Without Borders Meeting when Alex Freund
returns to present "Connecting Social Media to Your Career Goals," followed
by a question and answer session, and hands on help. Attendees are
encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet as well as a current resume so they
can work on improving their current social media presence, or start to build
one. NJLAP Program Manager Noreen Braman will be on hand to relate her
personal use of social media and will share examples her online branding
efforts.
Networking and breakfast is at 9:30 AM, the Program runs 10 AM to noon.

Developing a project approach including a high-level work plan that addresses all scope areas, schedule and budget and ties back to business case and overall project objectives.
* Resource Management- Addressing all aspects of resource management within a project. Includes managing client personnel, additional consultants, contractors and Slalom staff. Also includes capacity management, utilization, and team development / management.
* Scope Management- Defining and managing the parameters within which a project will operate - defining all the domains of change. Working across stakeholder groups to negotiate, define and document scope. Managing project scope change request process.
* Business Case Creation and Management- Developing business cases and cost benefit analysis, creating detailed project budgets and managing project financials within agreed upon tolerances.
* Project Quality Assurance- Managing quality, both of the product (e.g., defect management) and of the project (e.g., health metrics). Includes navigating a project/product management life cycle's quality reviews, gathering expectations on quality, managing business reviews, approvals and final signoffs.
* Project Implementation Management- Coordinating the efforts within a project across workstreams. Ensuring projects are ready for "implementation" (e.g., user implementation, org. change, training), including operational turn-over. Addressing business process workflow changes. * Communications Management- Addressing communication and organizational change management for both project team members and all affected stakeholders.
