Job Description:
IRM&S is the IT group that owns the project. It stands for Information Risk Management and Security. Compliance is the business area who owns the project. Any experience in security or compliance is a plus but not required. The main interest is that the person is a senior level project manager, PMP certified preferred, who can manage an IT project from end to end. The person needs to be able to interact frequently with the business leads as well as all areas of IT. In addition, the goal is to have one individual take on the role of both project manager and business analyst. The business analyst portion would be collecting, documenting and managing project requirements, writing test plans and test cases, and assisting our SV&T (System Validation and Testing group) and business owners with the various stages of testing. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with following SDLC, with experience working with Client SDLC a big plus.
Other knowledge of Client’s PM tools is desirable, such as SDLC and MSPS. Would prefer someone with stronger PM and BA skills than Client knowledge. This position requires an independent, self-motivated person who can keep the project moving for on time and on budget delivery.
The position is onsite at the Whitehouse Station location. This is not a position that is open to remote work or working from other Client sites. The role would require frequent interaction with the Compliance business area located at Whitehouse Station.
The resource would need to perform end-to-end project manager tasks and end-to-end business analyst tasks in support of a large Compliance project for IRM&S. Listed below are next week's upcoming Networking Events. All meetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attending at least one or two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely help shorten your time in transition. Also, many of these groups convene in the evening, so it will not take time away from your daily job search activities.
Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of like going to school, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gaining knowledge in job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standout from your competition.
In traveling to these meetings, consider car pooling. Not only will it reduce the cost of driving there, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem to go much faster.
Next week I will be distributing the list of Upcoming August Networking meeting. If anyone is aware of an upcoming meeting that you would like to share with the group, please let me know and I will gladly include it with my weekly updates. Position: Business Analyst
Location: Trenton, NJ
Duration: 11 months
More specifically, the Business Analyst / Integration Specialist will be responsible to:
Participate in the gathering of business requirements
* Document business rules captured in the requirements sessions, including the
requirements for tracking data changes over time
* Identify the source systems with potential data to contribute to the solution
* Analyze the quality of the data in the source systems to confirm that the data is
as described; work with data stewards to resolve any discrepancies
* Work with the Data Architect / Data Modeler to make sure all business rules are
properly represented in the project logical data model
* Develop mappings of the source system data to the project logical data model,
including all transformation and aggregation rules, and provide these mappings
to the Data Architect / Data Modeler and the development team
* Develop mappings from the project logical data model to any analytical structures
that are required (data marts or dashboards) , including all transformation and
aggregation rules, and provide these mappings to the Data Architect / Data
Modeler and the development team
* Provide feedback to the Project Manager regarding the development of realistic
timelines, resource requirements, and data mapping deliverables, provide
progress reports and status updates as necessary, and be accountable for those
aspects of the resulting project plan
* Work with the Data Architect / Data Modeler and the development team to
resolve problems with the data mappings that are uncovered durig development,
including unexpected data quality issues
* Assist the Quality Assurance Specialist to develop effective test plans to verify
the business rules represented by the project objective
Skills:
Documenting business requirements and data integration rules for data integration and/or data warehousing projects
Lead analyst for a project in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment
Thorough knowledge of business analytics technology
Proficient in MS Project and MS word and MS excel
Strong interpersonal skills
