**JA 29 Fuel Cell Engineer***

We are a small growing technology company developing, manufacturing, and
marketing advanced catalytic devices and systems for Energy sector
applications including fuel reforming, clean and efficient catalytic
combustion, air cleaning and specialty applications. We operate with
revenues from both government R&D contracts and major industrial partner

This role focuses on taking the existing reforming technology and

understanding and knowledge of the reforming and the fuel cell system
requirements, such as optimum operating conditions, system issues, load

well as what its limitations may be when it comes to the effects of
sulfur, steam, load changes and reformate variability.

The successful candidate will be working with the team on the design,
fabrication and optimization of power generation systems. Primary
responsibilities will include the mechanical design and integration of
PCI's fuel processor with a range of stacks, components and unit
subsystems. He/She will also support other engineers to help coordinate
the overall integration of the system and optimize the system components
packaging within the unit to minimize product size and enhance product
performance. Stack technologies of interest include Solid Oxide and
High Temperature PEM.

**Experience Required:***

Hands-on experience in electrochemical systems and testing of Fuel Cells
(SOFC, HT -PEM)
• Experience with high-temperature systems and combustible gases

**Summary:** Generate finished machine designs from a general concept.
Use a high level of judgment and experience to make robust, effective
equipment. Do so with minimal instruction. Machine types include a

asynchrounous assembly machines etc. These designs must address:

_Performance:_ Optimize ability of the machine to perform the specified
function, appropriate longevity, maintainability, etc.

_Delivery time:_ Minimize time to completion in all steps, including

required in order to manufacture new or modified products. Coordinate
efforts to establish pricing and delivery on sub- contracted services.

Assist management and other staff in determining and coordinating
manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other
considerations to facilitate production processes. Prepare cost
estimates for new work. Provide expertise in troubleshooting and
resolving production problems.

Engineer and/or design special fixtures and tooling. Generate computer
programs for CNC machining. Determine dimensions and configuration of
cuts, select proper tool paths, and determine machine speeds and feed
rates. Perform computerized dry runs and machine test runs with
operators to ensure efficient operation of machine. Modify and make
permanent edits to programs.

Maintain DNC library of CNC programs. Modify programs currently in
production to adapt to new products and customer requirements or to
eliminate problems, accomplish needed changes, or increase operational
efficiency.

Participate in special research events and trials. Analyze and plan
effective workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and
design layout of equipment and workspace. Review historical data to
verify correct estimates regarding production times, and related costs
to provide information for management decisions. Apply statistical
methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Evaluate completed jobs and make recommendations for improvements
regarding workflow and manufacturing processes.

Maintain effective relationships with vendors and customers (external
and internal). Maintain current knowledge of industry, technology and
related information. Communicate effectively both orally and in
writing. Working knowledge of computer systems and networks.
