Network administration for a network composed predominantly of Cisco network products; performing performance analysis, installing, optimizing, and troubleshooting network devices; monitoring network device to provide stable, secure, dependable network communication on both the wired and wireless network. Interface with the Information Technology Help Desk and Systems personnel to resolve network related problems. Other tasks include 2nd tier support of video conferencing equipment, and LCD projectors where installed in our high tech classrooms.

Some supervision of student workers.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field; excellent verbal and written communication skills; in-depth experience with Cisco routers and switches; knowledge of: Visio, Unix shell, Linux package installation, sql, perl; the ability to climb ladders for placement of access points or adjustment of over head LCD projectors.

Preferred: Professional work experience in an higher education and Cisco Certification.

Other Requirements: Successful completion of background investigation prior to employment is mandatory.
