Subject: [WNO] Job Landing
To my fellow networkers,
I am happy to report that I just landed an Application Development Manager position with Aetna in Hartford.
FYI, this job posting was on Indeed.com which was linked to insurancejobs. com.
I consider myself fortunate given the low percentage(5- 7%) of converting an on line job
posting into a job landing.
The valuable advice from the career experts including Ron Drew to customize your
cover letter and resume for each job posting, was instrumental in getting my phone
and in-person interviews. Once you're in the door, you then have the opportunity to
convince the hiring manager and staff that you are a great fit for the position.
I wish you all the best of luck and success in your job search.
Be persistent, proactive and persuasive.
Thanks.

Something to consider doing just before Monday night's meeting
Posted by: "novellch@verizon.net" novellch@verizon.net novellch@verizon.net
Tue Nov 10, 2009 4:31 pm (PST)
Hello WNO members,
I just got a call from the Blood Center asking me if I can give blood
again. I looked at my calendar and realized I could leave earlier
and stop at Northern Westchester Hospital on the way to the WNO meeting.
It's just 3 miles north of the meeting and takes 4 minutes to drive the distance. They prefer for donors to make appointments; however, walk-ins
can usually be readily taken as well. Just park on the right and a sign
will direct you to the donation location. After, you'll get a token to clear the parking fee. I will be there between 5-5:30. Bring your resume/market plan and I will be happy to look them over while munching on post donation snacks. For questions and to make appointments you can reach the Blood Center at 631-613-9732.
Best regards,
Chris Novell
