Description
Conduct security related investigations for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. The investigations will include theft of company assets, losses in transit, employee misconduct, intelligence monitoring of animal rights extremists/terrorists and liaison with law enforcement when necessary, and pre-employment background screenings as well as annual screening of NPC population for presence on federal exclusion lists. The position will also be the primary liaison to law enforcement and government agencies having interaction with the Security Department. Additionally, the position will be responsible for oversight and management of the DEA/PDMA compliance component of the Security Department. The incumbent will provide assistance to the Director of the Security Department conducting special projects and initiatives as required.

Key Responsibilities

Description
1. Conduct Investigations into incidents of theft of NPC assets, from both internal and external sources. Will conduct investigations of thefts from the East Hanover site, the Suffern site, as well as other NPC facilities throughout the U.S.
1B. Assist Corporate Security (U.S. and Global) with investigations assigned by the BPO (Business Practices Office) including, but not limited to; financial fraud, misconduct, off label promotion, call falsification, and marketing practices
2. Monitor and conduct analysis of intelligence information pertaining to the activity of animal rights extremists/terrorists targeting the pharmaceutical industry in general and Novartis in particular. When necessary, manage dissemination of information to EC members to enhance their safety and well being
2B Serve as the supervisor and coordinator for the Supply Chain Security program at NPC, including security posture at a 3rd party logistics vendor, development and maintenance of Freight Security requirement SOPs, and management of vendor for Electronic monitoring of shipments
3. Serve as the primary Novartis liaison with all law enforcement and investigative agencies, as well as the Department of Homeland Security.
4. Serve as the representative of the Security Department for all Business Continuity efforts
5. Supervise the DEA/PDMA Compliance and State Licensing component of the Security Department
6. Supervise the Pre-Employment background screening component of the Security Department.

About 10-15% travel will be required.

Requirements

Minimum:
A Bachelor?s Degree is required. Extensive experience in conducting and managing investigations, whether in the public sector or private industry, is necessary. Expert user in conducting data collection and analysis, as well as interviewing techniques in various settings and circumstances. Experience in personnel management, task planning, resource allocation management, and conducting personnel evaluation. Incumbent must be well organized, detailed oriented, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:
Minimum of ten (10) years of law enforcement experience with an emphasis on conducting and managing investigations. A college degree in a criminal justice or security related field is preferred. Additionally, experience at the executive level of law enforcement management, as well as, experience with the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Job Description - Senior Business Process Management  - 2 POSITIONS

Overview

This individual is expected to understand and be responsible for one or more key deliverables of our Business Process Management Office:

1)        Business Process Strategy, standards and governance.
Get engaged with a Business Units to document current processes and to assist in the reengineering  /transformation process with the client and our Internal users. Assist in driving the envisionment of the future processes and make sure that good reusable documentation is created and that our Enterprise tools are used.

This individual needs to understand the Financial Services industry very well and quickly learn Pershing´s Business Model to be able to help envision the future processes and to establish the metrics for the transformation effort (cost effective, eliminate manual process, reduce the FTEs for the process, etc.)  

In this it is expected that the individual  is knowledgeable in BPM technologies and that the process is embracing re-usability of existing technology assets.  

2)        Business Ownership of our BPM Technologies and other Common Services.
The BPMO owns the responsibilities for the rolling-out, integration and re-use of Lombardi, our future state BPM tool. The individual needs to understand Exception Processing (identification and resolution), application orchestrations, Business Activity Monitoring, BPM Dashboards (for example workforce productivity), to be able to participate or drive certain efforts,

The candidate also needs to understand the value of using common services and learn to understand the once the BPMO owns and provide consulting to the Business Analyst and Business SME´s in their use (and re-use).

The individual must have an excellent understanding of architecture and process design concepts and methodologies, and must work with each project team (business and technology members) to create the migration roadmaps towards the Enterprise services model blueprints using BPM and Common Services.

Key Accountabilities:

       Assist in the development of BPM Business Strategies

        Develop and maintain Methodologies, Standards, templates and tools

        Provide SME in the definition, design and delivery of BPM solutions

        Infrastructure and administration

        Establish and report metrics for BPM projects and common services use

        Be proactive and providing leadership and mentorship

        Document Business Process Models and assist the business in transformation and improvements

        Drive the timely implementation of BPM projects

Specific Skills

Strong skills and knowledge of the financial services industry and the internal and external industry changes and new concepts

Strong skills and knowledge of application service design concepts (SOA), straight through processing and exception processing and BPM architecture concepts.

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Ability to communicate and both technical and user-friendly language

Highly self motivated and directed

Experience in team oriented, collaborative environments

       Strong knowledge of BPM technologies (Lombardi a plus)

Director of Clinical and Billing Systems

Direct report to the Chief Information Officer

Responsibilities:

Lead clinical and billing systems for all associated companies. Over 10 different clinical systems in use
Take ownership and accountability of all clinical systems from an IT perspective
Business Process Re-engineering, including the development of revised process flow finalization, procedure documentation, and functionality and content integration.
Partner with stakeholders to assess all clinical systems and design and develop strategy to consolidate these clinical systems
Lead strategy and implementation for development of EMR and EHR
Make recommendations that will help drive better resident/patient care through the use of technology
Ensure the timely and accurate capture of clinical data from a systems standpoint relative to the billing process
Oversee primary billing system which is Healthmedx
Evaluate and integrate clinical platforms for ancillary businesses, e.g., Home Health Care, Pharmacy, Hospice, etc.
Evaluate internal and outsourced resources and ensure maximum efficiencies.
Assess reliance on vendors and internal resources.
Develop new strategy for more efficient, scalable and cost effective model.

Requirements:

Knowledge and previous experience of long term care business office, billing and reimbursement processes in a multi-facility company.
Knowledge of long term care clinical systems preferably EMR, HER, Dietary, Hospice, ALF, ADL, MDS, Electronic ADLs, Mar/Tar, Physician Orders, Care Plans and Assessments.
Knowledge of long term care reporting and analytics, including key operational metrics
Must have clinical systems experience. Billing systems and EDI experience a plus
Strong technological background and equally strong management and process experience
Experience with Healthmedx and Microsoft products a plus
Strong communication and facilitation skills - written and verbal - required.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Bachelor´s degree in a relevant Business Management, Healthcare, or Computer Sciences field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
Minimum 5 years healthcare IT systems experience with a focus on planning, managing, and implementing a wide variety of large-scale, complex clinical and billing systems.
Experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously preferred.
Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems required.
