This question came from Toronto. One of my regular readers who does it
right. Because she has progressively added enough new work assignments that
she is arguably now over-employed.
But can I tell you something? I'm a little uncomfortable right now. This
question is somewhat new territory for me.

Take the Mystery Out of Your Job Search Process
Guest Post by: Christina Archer
When I was a little girl, my father used to love to rush to the movie
theater to watch the latest "James Bond" film. The suspense, mystique, and
thrilling plot of each 007 movie was attractive to him; and of course, he's
passed a true affinity for the secret agent (preferably Roger Moore) on to
me.
Find this article at:

PS: I think Roger Moore was the worst James Bond to come down the pike. It
might have been the scripting, but no one compares to Sean Connery as Bond.

Article: The National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC) (Wall Street

Credential That Counts
. By ALEXANDRA LEVIT
A new educational credential could prove to be a time-efficient and
cost-effective means to help launch a career change.
The National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC) is based on an
employer-defined standard of the critical skills needed by entry-level
workers in a variety of fields.
A person receives the credential by taking an assessment that targets
general skill areas such as communication, problem solving, decision making,
conflict resolution, negotiation and analytical thinking.
Although the assessment has some clear benefits for students and recent
graduates seeking entry-level jobs, it also can be useful to career changers
who need to demonstrate to prospective employers that they have the
knowledge and ability needed for successful performance in their new fields.
"The credential is relevant for a wide range of job seekers," says Joe
Mizereck, executive director of the National Work Readiness Council, the
organization overseeing the credential's implementation. For instance,
"highly educated individuals who were trained overseas might leverage it as
a tool to prove themselves to American employers."
Web-Based Exam
To get the credential, you must take a Web-based exam that can be completed
in about 2[frac12] hours. Right now, it's available at 213 sites in 23
states.
"We hope that it will soon be a nationwide standard," says Mr. Mizereck.

Focus is Most Important to Succeed
As we plod through life, first looking for how to keep food on the table and
a roof over our heads, we often take the path directly in front of us, to
insure our best supposed guess that this pathway is indeed the best choice.
We see some appearance or feeling of assurance that this will best provide
for our family's welfare, but what guarantees will that choice assure?
There's really no more insurance in that choice than following a different
path and perhaps one that more closely involves your better talents and
feeds your inner self gratification. Wouldn't it make sense that doing
something you love and is what you do best, will provide the best chance of
success? Yet we so often choose to begin a career that we just happen to
walk into.
