TITLE: CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
Purchase, N.Y. based Distribution Company seeks a "hands-on" Chief Information
Officer to be an integral member of the management team. Qualified candidates
should have recent and proficient experience in Ecommerce, and EDI expertise in a
large company a multi -location environment. In addition, the candidate should be
a service oriented professional, comfortable working in a team environment, have
excellent communication and presentation skills, and be highly motivated. This
highly visible position reports directly to Chief Financial and Administrative
Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will act as the organization's lead in executing a strategic corporate
information and technology management plan
Establish standards and procedures for all phases of IT management
Develop solutions to complex problems and make proposals for improvement
of systems
Design a corporate IT strategy and guide the direction of projects to
make sure they are in line with organizational business goals and objectives
Maintain and develop all current systems so they are functioning at the
highest level
Responsible for the development and monitoring of information technology
operating and capital budgets
Coordinate and control all projects related to selection, acquisition,
development and installation of major information and technology systems
Review IT contracts and ensure they are being awarded fairly and properly
Ascertain proper management and completion of multiple projects and
ensure they are delivered within budget and time deadlines
Manage a 20-person department. Provide leadership and oversee support
and services for technical issues (hardware, software, and network infrastructure).
Stay abreast of current technology trends
Spearhead process improvement initiatives
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
* Qualified candidate should have 15+ years of experience including exposure to a
major ERPsystem, as well as Ecommerce and EDI experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent in Information
Technology background in a related discipline required.
Experience working in a 100+ employee multi- division or multi-company
environment
Responsible for managing infrastructure, programmers, Ecommerce, EDI and
business intelligence teams
Large private company experience preferred.
* Proficiency in Disaster Recovery Planning, Ecommerce and EDI in a multi-site
environment
* Analyze and resolve complex issues
* Ability to match information and technology solutions with business needs
* Strong project management experience
* Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to lead teams, motivate staff
* Act as liaison, problem solver, and facilitator.
* High level of integrity
* A demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities
* Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
