Middle Office - Reconciliation Specialist

Primary Responsibilities
Serve as dedicated specialist rectifying reconciliation cash and position
differences between trading system POMS and accounting system.
Required Skills / Background
3-5 years of experience performing reconciliations of record keeping systems
to custody systems or trading systems on buy-side of financial services
Excel macros
Deep familiarity with equity strategies and mandates, including long/short
and emerging markets
Understanding of how failed trades impact cash
Results oriented -- ability to work in fast-paced environment and make
things happen with minimal guidance.
Strong communication and articulation skills; ability to explain details
logically portfolio managers
Familiarity with Bloomberg, specifically POMS

Beneficial Additional Skills / Background
Accounting background
End-to-end understanding of transaction codes in portfolio management
record-keeping systems
Understanding of portfolio components that comprise spendable cash for
portfolio managers

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for analyzing and reporting total
reward and headcount information for the global enterprise. This role is
primarily responsible for providing human resource data necessary for the
Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to support the executive team's
management of the global workforce. Other responsibilities include:

• Improving the current access, management and reporting of budget and actual
compensation and headcount data

• Producing periodic and ad hoc analyses and reports for use by the senior
management and the Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team

• Providing technical support for frequent special projects and company
reorganizations

• Calculating monthly/quarterly total reward expenses for the accounting team

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Familiarity with the total reward philosophy
• Understanding of compensation and benefit accounting methodologies
• Ability to develop and manage scenario models for projecting compensation
expenses

• Knowledge of databases in order to report via multiple hierarchies (e.g. by
location, department, manager, product line, etc.)

• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with all
levels of personnel, to include senior management

• Familiarity with underlying HRIS and recruiting applications providing key
source of compensation, benefit and headcount data (e.g. Workday, Taleo,
SharePoint, etc.)

• Liaise with FP&A to provide managers with compensation expense reports and
projections for their departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years finance experience in a financial institution
• Required compensation experience and benefits experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
• Demonstrated proficiency in providing accurate and detailed financial analysis
in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

We currently have a full time permanent opportunity for a Director of Account
Services at a major company in King of Prussia, PA.

Reporting to the Senior Director, E-Commerce Technology Services (ETB) Account
Services, an Account Services Director is a leadership position within the ETB
organization. Leading a dedicated team of ETB resources, this position will
oversee the initiation, management and closure of a portfolio of technology
services initiatives in support of the strategic goals of a core group of
strategic clients. The Account Services Director will be responsible for
managing the successful and timely delivery of revenue-generating initiatives,
leveraging established project management practices and standards set by the
company project office. They will collaborate with senior management across all
stakeholder groups to establish a vision and timeline for ETB services
initiatives that will support the strategic goals of their client group,
maintaining and executing a portfolio active / planned projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
BS or MS in a computer-related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 15 years of experience of seasoned, full life-cycle management of large
scale technical projects in a professional services organization
Demonstrated ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and
technology organizations
Prior involvement with high-visibility projects and managing multiple projects
concurrently
Experience with Project Management Tools (i.e., MS Project, RPM, Primavera
helpful)
Proven exceptional written and oral presentation skills

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Experience with full lifecycle e-commerce projects and management of third
parties.


Responsibilities:
The Account Services Director will be expected to provide decisive leadership,
purpose, direction, mentorship and motivation to a dedicated team of
cross-functional resources. This dedicated team will be tasked with providing
technology driven services / projects to a core group of strategic clients and
internal Business Management stakeholders across multiple management levels,
leveraging internal and/or third party resources as needed. The team under their
management will have ultimate responsibility and ownership for the quality and
execution of their projects, based on predetermined project metrics.

The Account Services Director will ensure that accurate financial, labor-based
and status-related information is maintained for all projects managed within
their Business VP / client stakeholder group. This information will be reviewed
on a regular basis by senior management both inside and outside the ETB
organization.

The Account Services Director will be expected to understand the clients
strategic business goals and success metrics, while establishing themselves as a
trusted advisor to their senior management team. They will develop and achieve a
strategic vision with the client supported by the development and/or deployment
of new features/functions and technology projects. They will collaborate and
counsel clients on the rollout/deployment of platform upgrades and provide
clients with recommendations and guidance on the use of existing company
features/functions to achieve their business objectives

The Account Services Director must have the ability to meet commitments, work
autonomously, accept accountability, manage conflict, have superior
communication skills, and manage a significant demand for projects. It is
imperative that they work collaboratively with dedicated and matrix resources,
both internal and external to the company, while driving positive change through
the organization. They must be able to guide the resolution of problems /
challenges by helping to negotiate solutions that balance the interests of all
key stakeholders.

The Account Services Director will be expected to partner and collaborate with
leaders within and external to ETB, including third party vendors and service
providers.


Qualifications:
An Account Services Director will be expected to have superior proficiency in
the following areas:

Leadership skills: They will establish themselves as a trusted leader and
advisor with internal and external peers, direct reports and stakeholders,
building and maintaining relationships between senior executives within their
client base. The Account Services Director position will manage the deliverables
of project teams and functional resources assigned to projects, including
project managers, technical, business, client and other functional resources.
They will be expected to create and maintain a collaborative work environment
across multiple stakeholder groups, set goals, give clear direction, provide
decisive and positive direction / feedback to members of his or her team,
empower and trust individuals to take initiative and responsibility for their
projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate and insist on ethical and
professional behavior in accordance with corporate values.

Project / Portfolio Management: An Account Services Director will be expected to
use refined, expert communication and leadership skills to establish a common
understanding of portfolio / project timelines, milestones, and expectations on
delivery. An Account Services Director will need to use his or her experience
and judgment when advising management on the effects modifications to project
schedules and budgets. Candidates must have the ability to communicate project
implementation options that affect cost, schedule, quality, and risk to
stakeholders, as well as offer recommendations based on these elements.

Relationship Management: Should have ability to develop and motivate
collaborative teams who are dedicated to client satisfaction and project
delivery, encompassing stakeholders from ETB, the business, the client and other
external stakeholder groups. Must inspire confidence and trust across internal
and external stakeholder groups, while advocating / representing the interests
of the ETB organizational goals / objectives. Candidate will work in
collaboration with senior management from specific business verticals and should
establish and maintain a strong partnership with these individuals. Should
establish themselves as the key ETB and client contact for any ETB services
issues / concerns / questions that may require investigation.

Client Satisfaction: The Account Services Director will provide leadership to
their team with the goal of continually improving client satisfaction ratings on
behalf of the ETB organization. Must be able to develop action plans and inspire
adherence to same in the support of exceeding ETB client satisfaction targets.
