Mid-Sized, successful, and growing Boston based global investment management
company – Lots of Upside

Position Summary;

The Senior Software Architect will participate in all development across
several projects and teams, and will be responsible for architecture across
the systems. The candidate should be intimately familiar with the Microsoft
technology stack in general, and .NET in particular.

Key Responsibilities:

· Propose and design technical solutions
· Mentor 20 software developers in OO, Design Patterns,
Architecture, and .NET 4
· Hold education and training sessions on software development
· Work with several teams on system architecture
· Responsible for all inter-application communication architecture
and design
· Provide remediation for existing system design/architecture issues
· Lead developer code reviews (both code and design) – C#/.Net
· Produce effective technical documentation where needed

Required Skills and Competencies:

Mandatory requirements:

· 7 years of .NET experience, including at least 4 years of working
with .NET 3.0 or above
· Experience designing/architecting at least 3 systems.
· Strong object-oriented design and patterns in C#/.NET
· Strong academic understanding of basic and advanced software
development practices
· Familiarity with distributed enterprise applications (systems that
span several servers)
· Experience with automated unit testing
· At least 3 years of database proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
2005 (preferably 2008)
· Undergraduate degree a must

Highly Desired:

· Knowledge of a wide range of 3rd party software and controls for
.NET
· Knowledge of new and beta technologies
· Experience with MS TFS
· Lecturing or Teaching Experience
· Java Experience
· Experience in the financial services/investment management sector
preferred – If not, then experience in an environment similar in size –
scale – scope – 24X7, Mission Critical, Global, High Volume, Complex
Transactions etc.
