Reports to Director, IT eCommerce
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support:
• Responsible for managing application support for IT eCommerce platforms
• Manage Level-2 support team and ensure appropriate adherence to service levels
• Manage issue resolution process for any application production problems for these platforms
• Coordinate with production support team, 3rd party vendor team and other development teams to ensure prompt problem resolution
• Provide root cause analysis, temporary and long term fixes on system issues. Must be able to debug production issues and recommend solutions
• Provide accurate, concise and prompt communication to Business stakeholders on system issues and fixes.
• Proactive application and services management, delivering continuous application or process improvement and root cause elimination of problems
• Maintain an up to date record of production issues using a Problem Management utility (such as Jira)
• Analyze performance and capacity issues with systems / applications software and/or application components.
• Create & maintain operational procedure/runbook for production support team
• Ensure appropriate production processes and quality metrics are in place for the application, platform, and service.
• Manage the end-to-end change control function, oversee vendor relationships, and maintain SLAs at an application / platform level.
• Inform functional and IT teams of status, issues and resolutions to support efforts
• Maintains knowledge base/Technical documentations
• Manages and maintains access control to all systems
Technical Development Management:
• Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for internal client engagement from definition phase through implementation.
• Properly architect the Global VS Local code structure to maximize code reuse across all brands to reduce maintenance efforts.
• Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Reviews work of development team.
• Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
• Keeps project manager well informed of status of development effort and serves as liaison between development staff and project manager.
• Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project.
• Communicates and enforces coding standards
• Performs code reviews and mentors junior developers.
• Manages technical resources within budget and project schedule.
Other Duties:
• Facilitates team and internal client meetings effectively.
• Holds regular status meetings with development team.
• Keeps development team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• Facilitates effective team interaction.
• Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
• Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
Key Qualifications (Must Have):
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in providing large scale customer-facing web solutions
• Experience with 24x7 operations.
• Management of medium (8+) to large teams and significant ($1M+) budgets
• Strong programming/software engineering background (Must be hands-on)
• Requires extensive experience overseeing geographically distributed and culturally diverse teams
• Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management etc
• Experience in implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with engineers and executives.
• Proven leadership capabilities with matrix teams and ability to drive issues to closure.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Flexible and able to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with multi-tiered system operations, including web, application and database operational support & services.
• Hands-on experience in Unix, Perl, JAVA, J2EE, .Net, SQL Server, Oracle and writing scripts for these environments
Other Qualifications (Preferred):
• Prior experience working with Demandware eCommerce platform
• Previous experience in Managing Production Support in large scale eCommerce or other mission critical applications
• Vendor management experience
• Familiar with agile development methodology

Our client, a financial services firm, has an opening for a Director of E-commerce and Collaboration technologies to provide oversight for both functions as well as assist with other cross-platform and cross-functional IT projects. We are seeking an individual who can provide internal direction, leadership and accountability for staff and cross functional efforts, overseeing the timely and effective management of various projects. The right individual will be a high performance, self-starter and have at least 10 years of business and project management experience and at least 5 of staff management.
Having had experience with directing E-commerce and or collaboration technologies is a big plus.

Shape and deliver engagements with clients—including school systems, foundations, non-profits, and government entities—to design/ create custom solutions that will significantly impact and improve student achievement. The position will include components of collaborative requirements gathering, systems design, business analysis, and project/program management. The Senior Consultant will work with and lead a team of engineers, analysts, user interface experts, and visual designers.
Responsibilities of Senior Consultant:
Provide custom technology solution development and integration across the SDLC including gathering requirements, functional specs, design, custom development, integration, testing, training, and deployment.
