Position Responsibilities – Summary
We are seeking a Senior Database Specialist with strong Oracle skills as
well as skilled in MS SQL DBS. The Senior Database Specialist is an expert
level technical professional that can work independently, leading the
development of technology solutions or providing leadership to small teams.
The Specialist is expected to make the technical decisions critical to the
design, development, testing and implementation of Oracle and Microsoft
database platforms. This includes designing, testing, installing,
configuring, diagnosing and repairing of corporate databases according to
company standards while ensuring their optimal performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the design, testing and/or selection of new
database technologies in efforts to enhance company's technology platform.
· The candidate must exhibit strong communication, customer service
and team work skills.
· You will be a significant contributor on technology projects and
can independently support level 3 problem determination/remediation.
· A minimum of 5 years experience with Oracle Database technologies
as their primary focus and a sound working knowledge of MS database
technologies.
· Perform after hours system implementation, maintenance and support
as required and participate in 24/7 on call coverage as needed.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Bachelor's degree plus 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in
database technologies.
· Proficient knowledge and experience in Oracle (versions 7-11) and
MSSQL (versions 2000, 2005, 2008).
· Effective problem solving and planning skills and continually
recommends and implements technology and process improvements.
· Demonstrate effective customer service, communication and teamwork
skills.
· Financial services background a plus.
