EXEMP POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: HR & Benefits Supervisor Reports to:
President
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This position is accountable for the professional coordination of the
personnel function to satisfy the
Identified needs of the President and Vice President-Finance by providing
professional services related to human resources, labor relations and
employee benefits.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The incumbent reports to the President and has a strong functional
relationship with the Vice President-Finance.
The incumbent is accountable for developing and maintaining policies and
procedures which are designed to ensure the recruitment, selection and
retention of quality employees. He/She needs to ensure compliance with
Government regulatory requirements and company policies.
The incumbent is responsible for hiring practices, employee communications
and benefits administration. He/She maintains salaried and hourly personnel
records and personnel transactions such as salary adjustments, vacation
scheduling, job changes, etc.
This function also provides pro-active advice and service aimed at
maintaining a stable labor relations environment in the unionized hourly
work force. He/She ensures compliance with the Union Contract and is active
in grievance resolutions.
The incumbent interfaces on a routine basis with external contacts such as
government agencies, job applicants, employment agencies, vendors and
members of the local community. Internally, the incumbent must routinely
interact with all levels of plant and management personnel.
The incumbent operates independently within his/her area of responsibility.
Most direction comes from the President and Vice President-Finance.
REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires outstanding human relations, communication,
organization and problem solving skills. It also requires sensitivity and
discretion. The position requires five years of personnel related experience
and an Associate Degree in Business Administration or equivalent additional
experience.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Provide Advice and service to plant management on the application
of personnel policies and provisions of the labor agreement.
* Maintain necessary records of personnel and benefits programs.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Place job advertisements, screen prospective applicants and
conduct reference checks.
* Recommend cost effective benefit changes which are internally
equitable and externally competitive.
* Provide day-to-day direct contact and assistance to employees on
routine as well as confidential personal matters.
* Coordinate social activities such as Annual Service Award dinner
and special outings
* Provide back-up payroll administration services.

Title: Development Engineering Electrical Designer Inserter and Sortation
Systems
Location: Danbury, CT
Duration: 2-3 months
Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and supporting products based on
input from the market and its requirements and involves a high degree of
project ownership, troubleshooting ability, and strong communications
skills. As a key member of the design and integration team the position is
responsible for pulling together new projects for initial engineering
builds, troubleshooting and debugging these initial designs using knowledge
of equipment to aid the process and using CAD tools to develop harnesses,
cables, and cabinets. A large portion of the work includes the development
of written documentation to support the engineered product line. This
includes part specifications, OEM product requirements, and product control
documentation.
Required Qualifications
Associates/Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Must be experienced with full
lifecycle development and demonstrate good project ownership, written and
verbal communications skills Must be able to show a proficiency in
utilizing both 2D and 3D CAD.
3 years experience in harness specification, design, and documentation 3
years experience with AC and DC enclosure design and drafting 3 years
experience in researching, writing, and proofing technical documentation 3
years experience in system level design integration and debugging Proven
troubleshooting/debugging skills for solving system level problems which may
include mechanical and electrical issues Self motivated, technically
proficient, able to grasp new concepts quickly, have excellent oral and
written communications skills, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate
effectively with engineers and non-engineers in a group design environment
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of fundamental of digital electronics theory Knowledge of
fundamental of analog electronics theory Knowledge of fundamental
knowledge of AC/DC system power distribution Knowledge of commonly used
machine control protocols and communications methods Knowledge of
documentation control fundamentals and requirements Knowledge of mailing
and paper handling applications
