Course Description: COMP 129
PC Hardware and Software w/lab explores the PC system from software, hardware and operating system points of view. Hardware topics include system boards, processors, memory, power supplies, input/output (i/o) ports, internal adapters, printers and basic networking devices. Software topics include client/server operating systems and installation, as well as licensing software applications.
Adjunct Faculty-Intro to Networking - NETW202 | ||||||||||||
Introduction to Networking (w/lab) introduces the underlying technology of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and the Internet. Topics include networking media, the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, transmission control protocol (TCP/IP), an overview of routing and switching, and small network configuration and trouble-shooting. Students prepare and test cabling and become familiar with protocol analyzers. |
One of the courses above requires C++ certification and the other one requires CISCO certification. I apologize for not remembering which is which. These courses kick off beg. of July.
