Position Objective:
The Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO) is the center of business project management excellence. A critical responsibility of the CPMO is the maintenance and support of the project management system, Primavera.. The Primavera Project Management System Administrator must perform as a team member in a fully operational Project Management Office with best practice business processes. This person will be responsible for the CPMO Help Desk, functioning as the primary point of contact for the 1,000+ business and Information Technology system users for Primavera system related issues.
Major Opportunities and Decisions:
Two key challenges and opportunities of this position will be to: · Support a very large user group with diverse project management maturity levels, varied expertise with Primavera and, in some cases, negative perceptions and resistance to the tool. · Deliver system modifications and continuing support to the approximately 1,000 system users as we transition from an IT-centric project management approach to a more business driven approach
Principal Accountabilities: · Respond to user requests for functional support including project analysis. Facilitate ease of use and maximize system benefits through improved project management execution and promotion of consistent application of CPMO best practices across the enterprise · Coordinate resolution of Primavera technical issues with our IT support group and the Primavera vendor. Facilitate ease of use and maximize system benefits through improved project management execution and promotion of consistent application of CPMO best practices across the enterprise. · Maintain the Primavera Resource Pool including user profile activations, deactivations and updates. Control system access; ensure project data validity (cost and hours) by maintaining up-to-date resource and user profiles. · Reporting- Assist project managers in monitoring their projects; Creating custom reports, informing responsible management of project progress. · Lead version upgrade and patch installation activities including User Acceptance Testing coordination. · Continuously improve existing processes. · Other general support including creation and maintenance of the Enterprise Project Structure (EPS) and Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS), Project Archiving, Entitlement Review & Annual Budgeting process.
