The individual in this position will be required to manage a complex portfolio of projects in a changing and dynamic organization. The incumbent will also need to a strong financial and human capital leader and manager.

Specifically, this individual will oversee the deployment and support of the technology strategies that support individual distribution system:  Projects must be managed to appropriate time lines (target dates), budgets must be developed and managed to and resource plans must be effectively managed.  Overall coordination of technology deployments to the distribution network is critical since each manufacturing organization or initiative (e.g., Life, DI, PAS, Small Business) drives to meet their own strategic goals and scheduled deliverables.

·         Drive and develop a clear technology strategy based on the collective input of the Individual Products Distribution leadership, and develop a clear process for prioritizing initiatives and spend, taking into account the dynamic nature of the business, which requires both nimbleness and flexibility.

·         Develop and implement sound technology strategy and architecture that has a commitment from both business unit and the technology organization.  The strategy should incorporate an emphasis on reliable development processes and architecture.

·         Enhance the business systems infrastructure to support new product requirements, and ensure consistent service levels and operational reliability across the division.

·         Manage overall IT capital and expense budget.

·         Manage IT outsourcing relationships against clearly defined performance criteria and metrics.

·         Recruit, motivate and develop a talented staff, and establish a clear definition of functional excellence in application development.  Build and lead a flexible, responsive, systems organization that has a high sense of urgency, is very customer-oriented and value oriented.

·         Maintain a strong, general IT control environment responsive to the risks across all aspects of technology.
