Alicja,

I just received an email that EETimes (a trade pub) is planning a
special issue about the Apollo Moon Mission.

"On July 20, 2009, EE Times will help observe the 40th anniversary of
the first landing on the moon by Apollo 11 with a special digital
edition. Along with telling the stories of the NASA folks in the
trenches who made the Apollo program the historic success it was, we
want to explore how Apollo influenced a generation of engineers. Our
colleague and contributor to the Apollo 11 anniversary issue, David
Carey, teardown specialist extraordinaire and president of Portelligent
Inc., writes in a forum post accompanying today's top story that Apollo
"was a significant catalyst to get into the whole engineering,
tinkering, building, and breaking of all things mechanical and
electrical." Carey will profile some of the NASA controllers who helped
get Armstrong and Aldrin to Tranquility Base, guided home the crippled
Apollo 13 spacecraft and knew which command module switch to hit when
Apollo 12 was struck by lightning just after liftoff. We want to know
how Apollo influenced your career, and invite you to check out the
aforementioned Apollo forum and share your experiences. We will include
as many reader posts as possible in a special digital edition of EE
Times on July 20. We look forward to hearing and sharing your stories.

Apollo: The epic that launched a generation of engineers
On the 40th anniversary of the first manned landing on the Moon, EE
Times will celebrate the voyage of Apollo 11 through the stories of
those who helped send human beings to another world. We want to hear
from readers about how Apollo 11 and the five other lunar landings
inspired them to become engineers and problem solvers."

I think this would be of interest to members of the group and want to
make sure it isn't considered spam etc.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Mike Alterman
