Senior Mainframe Application Support (New York, NY)

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to resolve problems, escalate
issues, clearly communicate with the users and other teams, and effectively
manage priorities and expectations.

Responsibilities
Serve as a Senior Application Support to complement the growing team of
Fixed Income Portfolio Accounting and Trading group. The primary deployment
language is COBOL II using Micro Focus Net Express IDE.

Position Requirements:

- Prior production support experience, full life cycle product
development including structured analysis, design and programming
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability
to work as a member of a group
- IBM mainframe experience using TSO and OS/JCL and Utilities, FILEAID,
COMPAREX, SYNCSORT, VSAM
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Work experience or education in financial markets, particularly
brokerage back office operations
- Experience with Micro Focus COBOL, Micro Focus Net Express
- Knowledge of multiple platforms (mainframe, Windows servers)
- Experience with common Windows scripting (DOS)
- DB2, SQL Server or other database experience

My name is Srinivas Ganadinni and I am a Account Manager with Novost
Consulting - IT Staffing Company based in New York. Currently, I am working
on below position for one of our client.

Title: Java Developer with Swing Development Experience

Location: NYC

Duration: Long Term Contract

As a member of the Application Development staff, the candidate would
participate in the development and implementation of internal and mission
critical external distributed web applications. The position is for an
Application Developer who has strong experience developing and implementing
applications using the J2EE architecture. The candidate will be responsible
for building web/Swing applications based on the established system
architecture and will be involved in the entire project life cycle
(requirements gathering, development, deployment and maintenance).

Required Skills

. Participate in the analysis and design of applications with the System
Architect and Business Users (including business model, security model and
Business components); . Translate business model and user requirements into
software specifications; . Develop and conduct design walk-through; . Build
application components based on software specifications; . Provide support
of application deployment and maintenance; . Makes recommendations towards
the development of new code or reuse of existing code; . Support testing
(Functional, Performance, Access controls); . Develop documentation
artifacts; and . Production support during weekend/off-hours work, when
required Skills: Typically possesses 5 to 7 years of relevant work
experience.

. At least four years of working experience with JAVA, Servlets, SPRING
Framework, Swing, JSPs, JDBC, JavaScript, HTML; . Proven working knowledge
of the J2EE architecture; . Proven working knowledge of Websphere and
Eclipse or IBM's Rapid Application Development IDE; . Proven working
knowledge of the Spring Web application framework; . Strong Object-Oriented
analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design
patterns, and UML;and . Strong oral and written communications skills and
Financial experience is a plus Critical skills - Java, Swing

Preferred Skills - Spring, Jasper, Crystal Reports, CVS, Ajax, JUnit,
Oracle PL SQL
