Global Storage A newly created role with the Banking IES/GPS Collaboration Services team. The role will be a Global position and will help define and then manage Product Management of the Infrastructure's enterprise wide offering for Storage. The position is expected to be within the Client NJ or UK location and will initially be offered as a consulting position, minimum one year. Dependant upon the success of the programme and success of the candidate in the position, may turn into a full time position. Specifically the role will entail: - Defining the service offering for each of the banks Storage platform tiers - Manage the overall service being offered to the banks internal clients - Drive the service roadmap for the Storage Platforms - Manage the customer relationships, in terms of requirements gathering, demand and satisfaction - Overall end to end service ownership and accountability - Financial responsibility for budgeting and planning of the service offerings - Responsible to drive forward the definition of the storage platform consumption parameters e.g., retention requirements Key practices: - Define new workflows for user adoption - Work closely with Global and Regional Legal, Compliance and Records Managers stakeholders to define proper rules for retention requirements - Define requirements and rule sets for distinct storage platforms - Ensure proper consumption reporting is enabled - Define with Business Management team appropriate billing methodologies - Ensure consistent service delivery across all Storage Platforms - Develop and track key metrics for adoption, consumption, performance - Ensure global consistency Candidate qualities: The ideal candidate should be from an Infrastructure services background for no less than 10 years. Ideally this person has good knowledge of Storage platforms but does not necessarily need to understand tape level commands. The candidate should be comfortable in understanding and vetting a broad range of technology needs in the context of storage, from the developers aspect regarding backing up and retention of databases to the implementation of Regulatory and/or Tax driven user data. This candidate should have managed or been responsible to manage either a Infrastructure service previously or a range of services eg the manager of a small IT infrastructure that would have had responsibility for a broad set of infrastructure. This candidate will need to interact frequently with Storage Engineering, Storage Design and Operations, Legal, Compliance, Records Management as well as the groups Financial Management to develop the proper billing mechanisms. This candidate needs to be creative, energetic and a self starter as they will be responsible to acclimate quickly and to engage with the proper stakeholders without substantial handholding. Candidates coming from a consulting or solutions architect background with knowledge as noted above may equally work well into the role.
