PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sr. Business Analyst is an empowered team member and  leader, knowledgeable in the business, who deploys best practices  to facilitate the elicitation, organization and documentation of business requirements, working with members of assigned MULTIPLAN business units.  Ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimizes requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables on projects that are complex and not always clearly defined.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         Actively solicits, analyzes and negotiates customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

·         Works independently on projects that may not be clearly defined and are large in scope.

·         Manages multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders including IST staff and business staff.  Manages relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management. 

·         Meets and works with project business sponsors, software end-users, applications development staff, and others as necessary to perform assignments.

·         Assists with project planning, including methods, processes, tasks, schedules.

·         Supports customer in training efforts for end users and staff members.

·         Demonstrates knowledge in business/process being supported. Gains recognition by business as "expert" in their business processes.

·         Conducts meetings with business stakeholders to actively solicit, analyze and negotiate customer requirements.  Obtains signoff on business requirements.

·         Solicits input from the business community to determine project scope.

·         Solicits input from developers and other technical staff to determine level of effort required to complete tasks.

·         Works with project team to develop cost effective, customer focused solutions.

·         Conducts walkthroughs with applications development staff as handoff from analysis to development in life cycle.

·         Works with applications development staff during the technical design, programming and unit-testing and implementation stages.

·         Coordinates changes to functional specifications that occur during development and updates functional specifications as required.

·         Has the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical staff and convey complex ideas both verbally and in written form.

·         Demonstrates strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.

·         Mentors more junior team members.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

A newly created role with the Banking IES/GPS Collaboration Services team. The role will be a Global position and will help define and then manage Product Management of the Infrastructure's enterprise wide offering for Storage. Candidate qualities:
The ideal candidate should be from an Infrastructure services background for no less than 10 years. Ideally this person has good knowledge of Storage platforms but does not necessarily need to understand tape level commands. The candidate should be comfortable in understanding and vetting a broad range of technology needs in the context of storage, from the developers aspect regarding backing up and retention of databases to the implementation of Regulatory and/or Tax driven user data. This candidate should have managed or been responsible to manage either a Infrastructure service previously or a range of services eg the manager of a small IT infrastructure that would have had responsibility for a broad set of infrastructure. This candidate will need to interact frequently with Storage Engineering, Storage Design and Operations, Legal, Compliance, Records Management as well as the groups Financial Management to develop the proper billing mechanisms. This
candidate needs to be creative, energetic and a self starter as they will be responsible to acclimate quickly and to engage with the proper stakeholders without substantial handholding. My client seeks an experienced manager to oversee our Foreign Exchange (FX) trading application group.  The ideal individual is someone who has primary knowledge of FX trading platforms and related technologies but who is also familiar with Equity, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds and Securities Lending Trading platforms and functions.    The individual should have a significant amount of experience working with these types of trading platforms and leading technology projects related to these areas.   The individual will need to have a strong grasp of the Foreign Exchange and Brokerage businesses and be comfortable working closely with traders and relationship managers to identify needs and develop proposed solutions to address those needs. 
 
This individual will take a lead role in overseeing the Foreign Exchange Systems team and will be directly responsible for all of the initiatives that fall within this division.    The individual must be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the various technologies typically used to develop trading platforms and help to review and confirm application design.   In addition, this individual will be responsible for general project management for the FX group and be able to work with business counterparts to prepare an annual budget and manage to that budget throughout the year.  We would also like this individual to review and provide constructive feedback on the other trading groups within the Trading Platforms cluster as time permits (eg: Brokerage, Mutual Funds & Sec Lending).  Lastly, the individual must be comfortable working with and presenting to senior committees.
 
 
Specific skills required include:
 
•           Strong group management and project governance skills. 
•           Strong presentation skills (both oral and written) and a track record of preparing presentations and delivering them to senior audiences.  
•           Experience with the following topics and related software:
o          Foreign Exchange Trading (Platforms and Business)
o          Brokerage Trading (Equities & Fixed Income Platforms and Business)
o          Mutual Fund Trading  (Platforms, technologies and Business)
o          Securities Lending (Platforms, Technologies & Business)

Work Summary 
The candidate will fill an IT Capacity Manager/Planner position responsible for monitoring and analyzing current utilization and demand along with developing long term plans to ensure cost-justifiable IT capacity in all areas of IT infrastructure (server, storage, network, database) which is matched to the current and future needs forecasted through business initiatives. Serves as single point of contact for IT capacity related issues.
 
Responsibilities 
·         Develop and use a capacity management and planning process for the organization.
·         Understand IT component or resource-level capacity planning, IT-service-level capacity planning and business capacity planning.
·         Develop "what if" scenarios to analyze performance, capacity, consolidation opportunities and possible platform synergies.
·         Identify application performance bottlenecks and recommend remediation strategies.
·         Assist in planning, managing and implementing system engineering projects as they relate to capacity- and performance-tuning activities.
·         Participate in technical architecture discussions to determine the most-appropriate scalable model, taking into consideration high availability, failover and disaster recovery.
·         Participate in technical discussions with application development and quality assurance personnel to incorporate performance features at design, development and test stages.
·         Assist from time-to-time to diagnose performance problems, when necessary.
·         Work with change and configuration management process managers to develop impact analysis on capacity because of changes.
·         Work with Business Technology Liaisons to understand and assess the impact of business demands and business cycles. Gather future business growth trends and incorporate these trends into capacity models. Use this data and information to work with IT finance for developing chargeback models.
·         Help establish realistic IT budgets for the IT infrastructure, and develop cost-benefit analysis and cost estimates.
·         Develop performance and capacity reports for senior management.
·         Stay informed of trends and best practices in the performance and capacity planning area.
·         Work to support key service-level goals, including average response time, mean time to repair, customer satisfaction and customer productivity.
·         Leverage IT service and support best practices and process frameworks, such as ITIL, to drive continual process improvements.
·         Develop differentiated capacity plans for systems and applications depending on business risks.
·         Conduct a review of established capacity planning tools and make recommendations.
·         Define technical standards and procedures.
·         Develop relationships with professional organizations and peer groups in other organizations, and stay current with technology trends and best practices.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience:  5-7 years of experience as a Capacity Manager/Planner or correlating skillset and project management in mid to large-sized organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities must include:   
·         Strong technical background
·         Experience with virtualization, specifically VMWare
·         Experience in Linux/Windows platforms
·         Excellent communication skills at all levels
Education/Certification 
·         Bachelor degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
·         ITIL foundation certification (preferred)
