Topic: Tips behind constructing resumes that work The key component of a
resume that does well is one that clearly conveys a candidate's unique
attributes, either by the way it's written or how it's presented on the
page. When Melanie was a hiring manger, it always made her wonder if this
was a great candidate, hiding behind a poorly designed and written resume?
Melanie will demonstrate specific tactics that make it easy to customize the
resume for an employer and ways of writing the resume that quickly highlight
compelling accomplishments. She will also discuss writing accomplishments
for positions that are not related to sales.

POSITION: CSS - Fund Accountant
Accounting Associate
Columbia, MD
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop an expert level knowledge of the fund's offering documentation, and
internal policies and procedures
• Assist with the partnership opening process to ensure partner's capital
transactions are processed correctly and in a timely manner. These include
capital contributions, withdrawals, distributions, transfers of interests, and
capital calls
• Aid Portfolio Operations Department with fund reconciliation and make sure
funds are reconciled correctly
• Prepare monthly fund financial statements and month-end investor statements to
support the calculation of the Fund's NAV
• Provide financial information and reporting to internal management, external
counterparties and investors
• Monitor expense budgets and accruals
REQUIREMENTS:
* B.S. with 2-5 years experience in financial accounting or similar field
* Clear understanding of partnership allocations, including calculation and
tracking of individual investor incentive/management fee, high-water marks and
hurdle rates
* Certified Public Accountant or in the process of completing Required
* Advent Geneva Software
* Experience with Multiple Investment Types
* Strong excel skills
* Good communications skills
* Experience with Advent Partner or similar accounting general ledgers required

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
. Preparing financial statements on a monthly basis
. Analyzing inventory on a monthly basis
. Preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations and general ledger
. Preparing financial analysis schedules
. Handling payment of all bills
. Cash flow forecasting
. Budgeting
. Ad hoc reporting
. Handling treasury related functions including cash reporting, tracking
import shipments, paying vendors, maintaining cash requirement reports
The right candidate will have:
. 8+ years experience in manufacturing or distribution
. International experience is a big plus
. Treasury experience is a plus
. Inventory and costing experience is highly preferred
